My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother has a cookbook that has recipes that have been passed down to her through her family. Amidst all of the family feasts, there is a bold note that says "Don't let Dad touch the Turkey drippings!" One year, Dad got a little overzealous with the cleanup, and rendered us gravy-less.

Sweet and Spicy Almonds
Excellent appetizer, and very simple recipe. I followed the instructions to the letter. This recipe is a keeper.

Too Much Chocolate Cake
This is a delicious and moist cake. I made it a couple of times, but each time I omitted the chocolate chips, and found it was just as delicious. I was using a dark cake pan, so the edges were slightly burned when I followed the directions exactly. Lowering the oven temp 25 degrees fixed that completely. I will continue to make this cake.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad
I used crushed pecans instead of pretzels. It was delicious, but not as firm as it needed to be. I didn't let the pecan crust cool enough before adding the next layers.
