Hugs and Kisses Crescents

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2001
I wasn't really sold on this recipe but I did have the cresent rolls & kisses to make them, and so I did...and was I ever glad! My hubby was also immediately sold on them and I really liked them with the cinnamon in the icing sugar. Next time I'll try them with different chocolate too!

Hot Cross Buns I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2001
Since I was short on time, I decided to try this bread machine version over my 'traditional' recipe....and these buns were awesome! The even tasted just like my regular recipe! I did make some changes as my standby recipe was a bit different and you may want to try this too: I added 1 tsp. each vanilla extract & butter flavoring, 1/2 tsp. allspice, 1 tsp. each dried lemon and orange peel and 3/4C. mixed candied fruit. So good with a cup of tea.....

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2001
AWESOME! I threw the zucchini & wet ingredients in my food processor. Also, I used halzlenuts as I was out of walnuts! The two loaves came out perfectly and very moist! (By the way, if your loaf doesn't want to come out of the pan, wait until it has cooled off somewhat and then they'll slide right out). Thanks for the recipe! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!

Sweet and Sour Zucchini Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2001
This was good but definately has to sit overnight. I made it for company and served the same day - it didn't compare to how it tasted once it sat the following day! Very yummy.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
Oh my flippin' heck! This is awesome. I never thought I liked Sangria...but then a friend made some that changed my mind. I don't have her recipe so I tried this one. My hubby doesn't like red wine and loves this too! I didn't have lemonade when I first made it - used lemon juice. Also, I had orange and grapefruit juice to use up - yum. Could really play with the fruit juice. And I like this sagria both with and without the soda water (or ginger ale). Enjoy!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

This is close to my version, but i prefer my recipe (given by a friend years ago). Equal amounts of butter, margarine and honey and a good squirt of dijion mustard (a heaping tbsp) and rosemary. Fabulous. I serve with roasted veggies. Life is good!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
Very moist and delicious! Used 1/2C oil and 1/2 c applesauce, 3 eggs (because that's all I had) and added dried cranberries, raisins and pecans. Made one 9x5 loaf, sprinkled with icing sugar and 12 muffins, drizzled with white and dark chocolate and sprinkled with icing sugar. This is a great recipe and one you can have fun with, adding fruit, chocolate, etc.

And it smells divine while cooking. My hubby doesn't eat seafood, but lemme tell ya, I'll still be making this...! (He can have chili!). It's hard to believe that such a simple and easy recipe can produce such fabulous results! Enjoy!

Holey nummers! And I'm not an oatmeal cookie fan. I added raisons, craisons and walnuts and a bit of butter extract. This recipe is amazzzing. I also used my ice cream scoop to make the cookies a bit bigger than I would usually. You could easily make friends with THIS cookie...
