Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
I've never been impressed by a recipe that uses soda as a shortcut, and this one is no different. The pork came out tough, and the root beer flavor is too distinct. Next time I make pulled pork? No shortcuts.

Very Best Blueberry Cobbler!
I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and say this was not my idea of a cobbler. It was much too sweet, and the fluffy cake-like topping didn't have the crumbly texture that makes cobblers so tasty. If you really want to use this recipe, cut the sugar in the berries to about 1/3 cup, and reduce the sugar in the crust to 1 tablespoon, and reduce the baking powder to 1 1/2 teaspoon. That will go a long way to making this a more "cobbler-like" cobbler.

Tex Mex Black Bean Dip
I wanted a smoother dip, so I threw everything in a blender to puree before simmering the mixture. For a spicier version, use hot salsa instead of picante, add a chopped jalapeno, and add a few dashes of hot sauce. The blended version kills the heat, so you might have to add a lot! This was a very good dip, and a great choice for a low glycemic index diet (though you need an alternative to corn chips to dip).
