Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
I had never made homemade noodles before, but I decided to give it a shot. These noodles turned out terrific. I will definitely make them again. My mother always made the frozen noodles, and my dad was always perfectly happy with them. However, he grew up eating homemade noodles, and he was sure reminiscing about them while we ate. They are definitely going to be on our menu again next year!

Coconut Cream Pie VIII

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving. My youngest son loves coconut cream pie with meringue, but he was impressed with this pie, too. The only deviation that I made from the original recipe was to mix some of the coconut into the custard filling, and then I browned the rest of it before I sprinkled it on top. Delicious!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
This pie is absolutely fantastic! I made it for Thanksgiving and thought that I would give it a shot due to the great reviews, even though I have a pecan pie recipe that we all love. I am now a convert; this pie is delicious. It isn't dry, which was my fear since pecan pies with Karo are always plenty gooey. No worries! This pie isn't the exact same consistency, it's just a superior product, in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned, I can throw out my old recipe and use this one from now on! The only change I made was that I didn't use chopped pecans, choosing instead to use whole. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!

Caramels

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
Wow! These are so delicious! I made them for Thanksgiving and everyone who tried them had to have another and another... The only thing that I did to change the recipe was that I sprinkled sea salt over the top as soon as I poured them onto the jelly roll pan. They didn't cool as quickly as I had assumed they might, but I just left them to cool overnight and they were good to go the next morning. I am going to try to find the candy wrapping papers online. Anyway, be prepared to stir for close to an hour, but according to my entire family, they were worth the wait! Great recipe; thanks for sharing!

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
I made this for my family. Even though it was summer, my guys gobbled it up. Our usual soup (made from the envelope soup mixes) has always left an aftertaste. This soup was such a fantastic change! I did add a few extra potatoes and left the skins on. I also added a few drops of hot sauce (not enough to make it spicy, it just added nice flavor)along with a teaspoon of garlic powder. It was really delicious. If we liked it this much in the summer, I can't wait to use it during the long, cold winter months here in Iowa!

Bada Bing Bada Banged Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
My guys love these potatoes. I always make sure to use freshly grated parmesan cheese. I steam the potatoes in the microwave for about 8 minutes to speed up the process, and then cook them at 425 for the 30 minutes. At our house, every minute counts. Regardless, great recipe. We use it often!
