This was delicious! I'm making this one of my standards.

Baked Brie with Mushrooms and Almonds

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2003
Fabulous! Don't bother removing the white coating, it's completely edible, although a bit stronger, it's delicious! I served this with some homemade toast points for our anniversary and it was such a special appetizer! Now I buy brie cheese in bulk so I can make it often!

Lamb Feta Peppers

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2004
Absolutely fabulous! My husband and I loved this. I made a few changes - instead of stuffing the whole pepper, I sliced three sweet red peppers in half lengthwise, filled them with the meat mixture (cut the amount of lamb in half, the rest of the ingredients stayed the same). Two halves is a serving for my hubby, one half is plenty for me. You must try this!

Squash Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2005
I just made this and can't believe how good it is! Perfect way to use the overabundance of yellow squash. I didn't have any bell peppers ripe in my garden, so I used some dehydrated cherry bomb (slightly less spicy than jalapenos) instead and it was AWESOME! I'm freezing it, and when we eat it, we'll add chicken or beef, and some other veggies like peas or tomatoes.

Rum Raisin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
Absolutely excellent flavor, but the bread didn't bake all the way through. The center was still raw. Also, it baked into the absolutely weirdest shape loaf I have ever seen. But, with some tweaking, it will be great.

Curried Cauliflower

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
AWESOME! This sauce was wonderful! I bet it would be good on a lot of different veggies. I must have had a small head of cauliflower, because I had a bunch of extra sauce, so I used it on steamed asparagus - very good. I also didn't have curry powder, so I used half a curry cube.

Mushroom Blue Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
These were so delicious! I followed some of the suggestions - I mixed the blue cheese crumbles in with the meat, and used a little blue cheese dressing on the cooked burger along with tomato. My hubby raved about them! Very moist and full of flavor!

Sunrise Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
I don't know how anyone could get this casserole to bake in 30-40 minutes. It took a full 1 hour and 20 minutes for it to bake. Taste wise, this was pretty good - it needed a little kick so we used some green jalapeno sauce to liven it up. I used venison sausage which gave it great flavor. Next time I plan to use some hot peppers in place of the green pepper, maybe cherry bombs or hot banana peppers.

Hot Bacon Asparagus Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
this is absolutely awesome. We've made it lots of times for guests, and there are never leftovers (which is good because I don't think leftovers would keep well). I've added water chestnuts for extra crunch, and sometimes don't use the egg. love it!

Honey Curried Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
Delicious! We followed the recipe exactly and would not change a thing. I would never have tried this recipe (am not a fan of sweet stuff on meat) but my hubby was cooking dinner and found this recipe. I am SO glad he did because it will be a new favorite in our house. I love curry, but for those who aren't big curry fans, the flavor is mild.

Creamy Artichoke Pasta

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
This was just ok. I was really expecting something great, and this was disappointing. It was an interesting experiment but I won't make again.

Asparagus Quiche

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
I loved this, and my husband even said, "make sure you rate this good." I made a few changes to make it a little healthier. I used lean turkey cold cuts instead of bacon, and used evaporated milk instead of half and half. I cut the recipe in half, and didn't use the egg white. I didn't steam the asaparagus. I did add an extra egg and a little extra evaporated milk as it seemed a bit dry and it came out beautifully. The nutmeg is a must! I'm going to try to freeze this - will update my review when I see how it turns out. UPDATE - YES IT FREEZES WELL!

Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
Good - was a little bland, but it was a good combination of flavors. I didn't follow exactly - I cooked the rice in my rice steamer in chicken broth. I added about a cup of water to the spaghetti mix, and that was just the right amount. I also roasted the asparagus and cashews in the oven for a few minutes.

Asparagus Casserole I

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
Delicious! I used fresh asparagus (didn't steam first, just threw it in), cut the butter down a little, and cut down the amount of crumbs a little. I can see where canned asparagus wouldn't be good - I'll only make this recipe with fresh. Oh, and I used more asparagus than what was called for.

Swiss Cheesy Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
Pretty good, made a LOT of sauce, but I didn't mind - I served this with fresh snow peas and the sauce was great on the peas. I might even add snow peas to this recipe next time. I did add a bit of mustard to the sauce - adds a nice flavor.

We Be Jammin' Jamaican Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
I agree with one of the other reviews - just another banana bread. It did have a light lime taste, but this bread was a LOT more work than regular banana bread so I probably won't bother to make again.

Sugar Snap Peas with Mint

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2006
This was good - not quite as outstanding as some of the reviews made it sound, but it was a refreshing change from my normal preparation. We eat snap peas this time of year once or twice a day, so any change is good!

Super Easy Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
Pretty good - a little sweet for my taste, but easily fixed by omitting the sugar. I added a bit more chili sauce, and added celery salt since I didn't have celery. I also added some green tabasco sauce - yum!

Oregon Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
I'm torn on rating this. Flavor - definitely a 5. But as fas as consistency, these patties wouldn't stay together no matter what I did. I followed the suggestions to not use the reserve juice but they were still too moist and fell apart. I just fried it up in a pan with a little oil, kind of like hash browns, and it was very good. But as far as a salmon patty, this didn't work.
