Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
Being my first time making noodles I was a little skeptical when my dough wasn't coming together like I had hoped I added about 2 tsp more of milk and continued to mix and they actually turned out really good, I don't know if I even needed that extra milk. I used my stand-up mixer to make the dough as well as the noodles. Next time for the dough I will try some other reviewers method of using the food processor. Also, I did not let all of the noodles dry for two hours, I use 1 1/2 Cups for soup after about 30 min of drying. I doubled this recipe and got 3 1/2 Cups of Rigatoni noodles.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
I have tried these many times now and aside from one time, when I mistakenly doubled the butter, these have always turned out delicious. I follow some other reviews reduced the cook time to 9 minutes MAX.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
Very good, truely no comparison to canned sauce and so easy I can't believe I waited so long to make this. I followed some other reviews and made a big batch of the seasonings and then just a single batch of the sauce. I tried it after 1 TBSP of honey and decided to stick with that. I'm really looking forward to using this as my base for pasta sauce.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
I made this following the recipe exactly the first time. The second time I left out the vegetable broth, added 6 Cups Chicken Stock, 2 Cups water and 2 Cans of Cream of Chicken soup. Also, I added about 2 cloves of minced garlic to the onion at the beginning and I cooked the chicken in the broth for about twenty minutes before removing it to cut it up and then I added it back in at the end and I added peas at the same time as the noodles. For the seasonings the only additions I made were adding 1 tsp of Parsely and 1 tsp of Poultry seasoning. Both times it was very good, just a bit more personalized the second time around.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
I have made this one a few times now and always seem to get lots of positive feedback. As per some other reviews I add a little extra jalapenos as well as I mix panko bread crumbs with the parmesan for a crunchy top. Very good!

I loved this! For me it was a really nice change up from the classic mayo and pepper sauce and I most definitely intend to make this again.

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
Thanks for sharing this recipe, I am always looking for new slow cooker recipes! I was a little skeptical on mixing mushroom soup with salsa but after cooking it was really quite tasty and my family seemed to enjoy it quite a bit as well, even the pickier eaters.

Very simple and very yummy. I followed other reviews and cut the sugar in half but left everything else as is. I always seem to have so many cucumbers in my fridge so I am very thank-ful to have come across this recipe!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
I've made this recipe twice now and have enjoyed it both times, however the second time I think I left it in a little too long after adding the barbeque sauce and it started to get a little dry, but that was entirely my own fault. As per other reviews I used a 4lb pork shoulder both times as well as Sweet Baby Rays for the sauce and I have no complaints on either. The second time around I also poked the pork with a fork and rubbed it with salt, pepper and garlic powder before putting it in the crockpot and will continue to do it this way. Overall I really like this recipe because it is so simple and very yummy!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
So Yummy! Definitely don't skimp on the brown sugar if anything next time I might add a little extra the sweet-salty combination is delicious. Unfortunately, at my own fault, I made these with a really tasty bacon wrapped tater tot appetizer and the two bacon appetizers was just too much bacon, in the future I will stick to one at a time.

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
For this recipe I used a 9 lb, Maple Smoked, uncooked, bone-in ham. I used 2 cans of pineapple slices, poured the juice of the first can into the bottom and mixed with brown sugar before adding the ham. I then covered the ham in brown sugar and pineapple slices, covered it in tin foil, put the lid on and cooked it on low for about 4 1/2 hours. About half way through I followed another persons review and transferred much of the liquid to a pot, added about two TBSP of cornstarch, 1 tsp of ground cloves and the remaining pineaple juice, cooked for about 15 minutes until it was nice and thick and then basted the ham with it and continued cooking. This turned out great! Next time I may reduce the time to 4 hours but otherwise wouldn't change a thing!

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Made this recipe as is aside from two things: I added 1 cup of fresh mushrooms for personal preference and due to limited time I prepared this the night before and refridgerated it until it was time to cook. Turned out great although 30 minutes in the oven wasn't quite enough to warm it up, it need about an extra 10-15. Definitely will be making this again!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2012
Really great recipe!! Followed a few suggestions and used curry paste instead of powder and cooked for a few extra minutes, also cooked onions a bit longer and used the whole onion. For vegetables I added green and red peppers at the same time as the onions and also drained the tomatoes before adding them. Simmered uncovered for about an hour and added a little cornstarch to thicken. Not being a big fan of coconut milk I was amazed by how much I enjoyed this dish and will definitely be making it again soon!

Lemon Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Very yummy. After the first time making this I added a little extra lemon zest the next few times and it was delicous. Also, I followed someone elses review and added a little yellow food coloring to give it a nice yellow color as I was giving this away as gifts.
