Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
I made this following the recipe exactly the first time. The second time I left out the vegetable broth, added 6 Cups Chicken Stock, 2 Cups water and 2 Cans of Cream of Chicken soup. Also, I added about 2 cloves of minced garlic to the onion at the beginning and I cooked the chicken in the broth for about twenty minutes before removing it to cut it up and then I added it back in at the end and I added peas at the same time as the noodles. For the seasonings the only additions I made were adding 1 tsp of Parsely and 1 tsp of Poultry seasoning. Both times it was very good, just a bit more personalized the second time around.

I made this once with regular paprika and then once with smoked paprika, both were great however the smoked was definitely tastier. Very glad I came across this recipe!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
For this recipe I used a 9 lb, Maple Smoked, uncooked, bone-in ham. I used 2 cans of pineapple slices, poured the juice of the first can into the bottom and mixed with brown sugar before adding the ham. I then covered the ham in brown sugar and pineapple slices, covered it in tin foil, put the lid on and cooked it on low for about 4 1/2 hours. About half way through I followed another persons review and transferred much of the liquid to a pot, added about two TBSP of cornstarch, 1 tsp of ground cloves and the remaining pineaple juice, cooked for about 15 minutes until it was nice and thick and then basted the ham with it and continued cooking. This turned out great! Next time I may reduce the time to 4 hours but otherwise wouldn't change a thing!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
This applesauce turned out perfect but after reading some reviews i did make some adjustments to it. I doubled the apples (4 Jonagold & 4 Honeycrisp), used 1 TBSP each of brown sugar and white sugar and 1 full tsp of cinnamon. I kept the water the same and cooked it 15 minutes covered, then 15 minutes uncovered. It had just the right amount of everything and was super easy to make.

Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
These did not turn out like the ooey gooey butter tarts I was hoping for. I do intend to give these one more try but I think I may be still on the hunt for my favorite butter tarts.

Peanut Butter Temptations II

These oddly enough were not my absolute favorite but have been the most well received baking I think I have ever done. Quite tasty but for me just one does the trick.

Beef, Mushroom and Guinness® Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
Over the weekend I happened to come across a dish like this in an Irish pub and come Monday I was bound and determined to find the recipe. Well, if this isn't it it's pretty close! I made the recipe exactly as is only making the pie in individual ramekins. Despite having to eat dinner at nearly ten thirty at night, I absolutely loved this, and after travelling to four different liquor stores looking for individually sold Guinness, I am sure glad I ended up having to buy a four pack because I cannot wait to make this again!

Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
My boyfriend and I enjoyed this dish but I wouldn't say its my go-to tuna casserole. I found with the cooking creme it was a bit bland and ended up adding half a can of mushroom soup along with half a tsp of garlic powder, fresh ground pepper, and 1/4 cup of fresh grated parmesan because I happened to have it on hand.

Lemon Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Very yummy. After the first time making this I added a little extra lemon zest the next few times and it was delicous. Also, I followed someone elses review and added a little yellow food coloring to give it a nice yellow color as I was giving this away as gifts.

Loved everything about this except the jello BUT i'm not a jello fan so that might not be entirely fair. It did seem to go over well with everyone else though.

Fresh Mozzarella Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 1, 2013
I made this recipe as directed initially but like others I felt like it need something extra. I added roasted red pepper dressing and it was delicious, certainly a nice change from the traditional pasta salad. Next time I would use a little more fresh basil.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I have tried these many times now and aside from one time, when I mistakenly doubled the butter, these have always turned out delicious. I follow some other reviews reduced the cook time to 9 minutes MAX.

Summer Anytime Crisp Corn Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
This is not really a fair rating of this recipe in particular but I found a recipe similiar to this at my local grocery store so I used this as a base for that salad. I added 1 can of drained and rinsed black beans, 1 can of drained and rinsed lima beans, an extra (smaller size) can of corn and whole wheat fusilli noodles. For the sauce I tried the one in this recipe and didn't really care for it so I added about 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of roasted pepper salad dressing (similiar to italian), very yummy.
