Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
AWESOME! I have made this several times and ALWAYS get rave reviews! I make 1 minor change, and that is a glaze. I heat 1 cup of unsweetened pineapple juice with 1/2 cup sugar, a dash of salt, 1/2 Tablespoon lemon juice and 2 Tablespoons cornstarch. Heat to boiling, boil and stir 1 minute. Let cool to room temp then drizzle over fruit. It is soooooooo DELICIOUS! Thanks for sharing, Anne!

Tina's Revised French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Thank you sooooooo much, Judy for sharing such a FANTASTIC recipe! The only thing I changed was adding 1/2 teaspoon more salt (and oh yes, using my kitchen aide mixer.) These were so superb they BOTH disappeared during dinner tonight and there was only 4 of us! I proofed the yeast in the cup of water with the sugar before adding it to the mixed flour and salt in the kitchen aide. I then mixed it until it was all mixed up and kneaded it about 5 minutes between #2 and #4. It was so easy and soooooooooooo delicious! Thanks again for sharing.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
This bread probably would have been just as fantastic the way it is written! I read the reviews though and from the beginning I thought it called for to much yeast. So as another reviewer suggested, I reduced the amount of yeast to 2 TBSP. I used brown sugar because I was almost out of white and I made the second addition of flour whole wheat. It was the most fantastic bread I have eaten in a LONG time! Thanks, Marilyn for sharing your Grandma's recipe!!!

Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
These Dumplings were SOOOOOO good! It's the first time I've made dumplings and you have submitted such a great recipe, Carol, that there's no way it could have turned out bad. I am so glad that I found your recipe to try first. I will never use another! I made the parsley dumplings, doubled the recipe and my WHOLE family LOVED them. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for sharing! (Sorry Carol, I saw Heidi's name on top, but now I see that she's the one that submitted the photo.)

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
EXCELLENT recipe! Tastes like the boxed salads you buy in the store, only WAY better! I added a little more milk as you suggested, so it wouldn't be so dry. It was PERFECT! Thank you soooooo much for sharing your recipe, Wilemon!!!

Poppy Seed Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
This is an EXCELLENT recipe! I made only minor changes. I omitted the sherry and used chicken and muxhroom soup. I've seen other recipes like this calling for 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can cream of mushroom soups. Since this only uses 1 can of soup, I decided to use the two combined in 1 can. I also used just 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers. It was just right! Served it over rice and did a side vegie and dinner was complete. EVERYONE LOVED IT!!! Thank you sooooooo much for such a GREAT recipe, Janet!

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2007
Excellent potatoes! The first time I made these I left out the thyme because I didn't think I liked it. The second time I made them I used all the herbs called for and they were even better than the first! I always use SEA SALT which adds to the flavor, also. EVERYONE LOVES them. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

King Ranch Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
Made this using a few of the changes in other comments; cut tortillas into strips, decreased chicken broth to 1 cup and only used to dip tortilla strips, added 2 cloves of fresh garlic, pressed and sauted with onion and bell pepper until onion was translucent and tossed chili powder into cheese before sprinkling on layers. It was sooooooo excellent! Made one for my family and 1 for another and everyone wants more!!!! Next time I will use 2-3 whole chicken breasts and up the cheese to 12 ounces. Still it was EXCELLENT the way it turned out, just trying to tweak it a little more.

My husband and I LOVE this soup! I usually use 1 1/2 pounds of extra lean ground sirloin and mexi corn. When it's ready to serve, I also offer shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and plain Doritos. Awesome stuff! Thanks, Becca!

Pot Roast in Foil

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2006
This is EXCELLENT! I made some changes, though. Since I had a meeting and wouldn't be home at dinner time, I needed to make a meal in one...I used an oven bag inside a 9 X 13" pan, coated with 1 TBSP of flour. I set the roast inside the bag and topped it with about 1/4 cup of Lea & Perrins steak sauce. I mixed 2 cans of mushroom soup (instead of 1) with the dry onion soup mix and spooned and patted it over the roast. I then set 6 peeled and 1/4-ed potatoes and many baby carrots around the roast. I closed up the bag, following instructions included with bags. I baked it at 325 degrees for 2 3/4 hours. The vegies were perfect and the meat was tender. The gravy was AWESOME! My family LOVED it and I enjoyed it VERY MUCH, even though I had to eat it reheated! Thanks, Lynn, for a GREAT recipe to build on!
