Soft Molasses Cookies V

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
These are THE BEST cookies we've ever made! The perfect combination of crisp outside and moist and fluffy and soft inside. We were out (I know, right?!) of cinnamon so we substituted allspice and they were amazing. Next time we made them, we added raisins and cinnamon chips. Not necessary, but equally delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Oh how we love this recipe! Almost every time we have overnight guests, they expect a breakfast of baked oatmeal. We put out little bowls of chopped walnuts (toasted), raisins, brown sugar, and whipping cream (sometimes whipped, sometimes not) for them to decorate their own serving. Warm and filling and very welcoming!

This is really good (and carb-friendly) if you substitute crushed walnuts or pistachios! Delicious and great recipe share!!

Sugar Cream Pie V

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
If I could give this 25 stars, I would. I've been grain and sugar free all week, and I chose this pie to break my "fast," and celebrate this weekend. Rich and creamy, silky and buttery, it is worth every.single.calorie. of the 541 per serving. Be SURE to use real, high-quality vanilla, real butter (salted gives it the perfect touch), and best, grate fresh nutmeg over the top. Absolutely divine - THANK YOU, Glenda, for sharing!

Espresso Sugar Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
I'm only giving this four because it didn't set up. We're going to try making it again, because it was delicious!! It was just more like a delicious espresso pudding in a crust. We'll update if the next time is better - it's worth repeating!

From-Scratch Venison Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
This was delicious! I made the following variations to the recipe: I dredged the meat in almond flour instead of white flour before browning in half olive oil, half butter I forgot to get a can of tomato sauce, so I actually used a jar spaghetti sauce (it worked!) I added about 1 cup of red wine to the meat at the beginning of the cook time Crock pot cooked - low for 8 hours - the meat was so tender! - added the sour cream at the end just before serving. Will definitely make this again!

although i've personally cut out most grains, most of the time, this is a GREAT alternative to the traditional recipe.

These are also fabulous if you marinate them in a combination of 1 tablespoon of basamic vinegar with the olive oil listed.

Real Sopapillas

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
i was glad i was a "good girl" all day because i lost all control when it came time to eat these! two hints: be sure your oil is good and hot or your sopapillas will sink, take too long to rise, and be too oily. also we found cutting the squares a bit smaller (use a pizza roller!) made the perfect little pocket to fill with honey. YUM!

Caramel Martini

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
i actually liked this. it looks cloudy, so it's not super pretty, and i was hesitant about the tea, and really, the whole recipe, after reading the reviews.. having said that, it actually tastes good, and i'm not a real "hard liquor" person.

Garlic Chicken Sausage and Summer Vegetable Saute

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
this was delicious! here's a tip: to save time, use a bag of pre-sliced pepper-and-onion blend (ours is called pepper and onion stir fry). i keep bags in the freezer all the time because they don't go bad quickly, and they're super convenient in all sorts of recipes. in this case, they can replace the pepper and onion.
