Dijon-Dill Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Yummy! I roasted the brussels sprouts (cut them in half and then roast for 20-25 minutes at 400) because I despise boiled vegetables of any kind - then I halved the butter and didn't add the water chestnuts. We are brussels sprout lovers and we thought it was a great mix of flavours.

Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
WoW - so, so good! Totally surprised! I couldn't stand to lose all those nutrients from the boiled carrots, so I made a standard soup base by sauteeing the onions and carrots for about 8 minutes, then added the garlic, then sauteed for another 3 or so and added the chicken stock. Boiled for about 15 minutes until carrots were quite tender. Pureed as indicated, and honestly at this point with a tad more liquid this is an awesome soup on it's own! I did add extra chicken stock vs milk, and then the herbs - fantastic! Thank you for sharing this surprisingly wonderful recipe!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Very good! Made into pull apart buns for dinner (7 small rounds in a circle pan) and froze the rest. Excellent flavour, would be so awesome for cinnamon buns. Oh, and made the old fashioned way (see previous reviews) and it turned out great.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I doubled the sauce as per other reviewers and we were happy with the finished product. I added minced fresh ginger to the garlic and green onions, and sauteed raw shrimp with that mixture before adding the sauce - I think that made a big difference, it had a very nice taste of shrimp. It was delicious but a bit too thick for our liking, next time I will add less corn starch.

'Chinese Buffet' Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Very good! I sauteed the beans (with added julienned carrots and peppers) first and then added the garlic (and some fresh ginger) 1/2 way through so it wouldn't burn - it turned out great. Be careful not to overcook the beans, cook until almost done but still firm and then add the sauce, they will soften even more in the sauce. I will use less sauce next time, but that's just a personal preference.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Very delicious and traditional pound cake. Be careful not to overcook, check every few minutes after specified time. I topped it with a lemon glaze, and it was very well received.

BAKER'S Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Awesome cookie! I also make variations of it substituting whole grain flour for the all purpose and adding ground flax seed, the kids even love the variation. Also, I've never used chocolate chunks, I just use 1 cup chocoltae chips and it works great.

Delicious! I sauteed the spices with the jalapeno and garlic. I've made it once with tofu chunks too, and it was awesome!

Vegetarian Korma

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
We loved this!! It is the closest we've found to our favorite indian restaurant. I added about 1 tsp. of turmeric, and added the curry and salt with the ginger and garlic. As other reviewers have mentioned, the 10 minutes for the potatoes should be about 20 minutes or more. We also made the chicken tikka masala off this site and had a great dinner! Enjoy!
