President Ford's Braised Eye Round Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
My man and I loved this! I don't cook steak or even eat steak because it's always so tough, but I bought the eye of round hoping that I could make it edible for my meat-and-potatoes man. I have never seen steak simmered before and wow, I'm going to do this a lot now. It was so easy and the sauce was fantastic. I took the advice of others and eliminated the seasoned salt and added garlic powder in its place; the wine and beef broth added just enough salt. Next time I will make the sauce thicker by adding in some corn starch, and I'll probably simmer it longer than 1 hour (I think 1.5 hours would make it perfect). Thanks so much!

Easy Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I've always liked adding a little something to broccoli, usually a bit of parmesan cheese. My man is a a big fan of all things lemony, so I gave this a try. We both loved it. If I change anything at all, I'd reduce the amount of vinegar by a wee bit.

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
ABSOLUTELY love this recipe! It has a mildly sweet taste, and is the silkiest from-scratch soup that I've ever made. I was struggling to get the peel off and found a tip online to slice the squash in half and remove the seeds, then microwave them for just a few minutes to soften the flesh. It's still a challenge to remove the skin but not as difficult. I make this in double batches now because it goes so quickly :-D

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
My family really liked this, but I it could be made in under an hour by cooking it on the stove. The canned items simply need to be warmed up, and the chicken can be simmered in water, shredded, and then added to the soup. Seven hours is simply way too much time for this recipe. Other than that, we loved it!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
This was really good. Not exactly moist but definitely not dry. I used a frosting recipe that was very thin and poured it over the cake. This worked perfectly to make it moist. I'm saving this as my go-to chocolate cake recipe.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
I love this! It's my new go-to chocolate icing recipe. I mixed mine with a stand mixer and it came out rather runny which was great to pour over the cake as it was then somewhat absorbed into the cake and added to the moistness. I didn't have evaportated milk so I used water and that may be why it was runny, but I have to say, it tasted delicious!

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
I'm on a strict diet that doesn't allow for any sugar whatsoever and there's sugar in breakfast sausage, so I bought 2.5 lbs of ground pork and added these ingredients minus the brown sugar. It was delicious! I increased the amount of each ingredient by 50-100% which resulted in a mild sausage. Next time I'll leave out the red peppers and increase the salt, sage and black pepper.

Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
WOW!! I didn't even log on to allrecipes because I didn't think there'd be any special reason to save the recipe, but I was wrong. I don't have any of the crunchy veggies to add so I just made the dressing, and it's amazing! Best, most flavorful chicken salad I've ever had :-D

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I've been looking for a really good chocolate chip recipe and I'm so thrilled to say I've found it! Like other reviewers, I adjusted the recipe to 3/4 C sugar and 3/4 C brown sugar, and 1/2 C butter and 1/2 C lard/shortening. I also beat the wet ingrediants for several minutes, until it was as light and fluffy as it could be. The batter was like a fluffy icing, I could've eaten it just like that. I baked for exactly 8 minutes, which was perfect--left them a bit underdone inside. I will SOOO be making these again. Thank you to whoever added this recipe.

Chicken Piccata with Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I just made this and it disappeared fast! I too used chicken broth instead of wine, and I didn't have any capers. If I had, it would've added a bit of much-needed punch to an otherwise bland recipe. Don't get me wrong, it was good and I'll make it again, but the flavor is mild for my taste.
