Mexican Chorizo

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
While I didn't follow the directions - I used ground beef because I needed chorizo NOW so I just used the spice blend - which is dead on! IMHO, the cloves push this over the top - dead on! THANK YOU - can hardly wait to use this correctly from now on!

Sweet Chili Lime Chicken with Cilantro Couscous

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
Great dinner - will try again with rice as I still am NOT a couscous fan - but loved the flavors. Served with baked broccoli also here on AR which echos the citrus chili flavor of this dish! Lovely dinner!

Added some other spices based on my mom's recollections of her recipe - 1 t basil, oregano, upped pepper to 1 t also...used fresh garlic - 2 cloves. Quick soaked beans - read it MIGHT cut down on their gassiness factor - then all to crockpot. GOOD STUFF - thank you!

Big Smokey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
Absolutely wonderful! Not having used liquid smoke often, I was unsure if that was too much, and my husband doesn't like SUPER spicy stuff - so I was worried about the amounts of adobo and chipotle, but these were spot on! My husband loved them as did I! Will not change a thing (unless I'd make for JUST ME - in which case I'd be ok with more garlic and chipotle...)

I normally wouldn't review a recipe I changed and or didn't try myself - but it smelled soo good and looked so good I know I would have loved it! Subbed yougurt for buttermilk...and didn't get to try it because the rotten black lab I call my kid snatched it off the counter b4 hubby and I could try it. SHE, on the other hand, loved it. GRR!

Lovely! Simple directions even I can follow! Do remember to cover edges as stated in some reviews - but if you don't it's not burned enough to affect taste!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
Great - easy to double and loved the review suggesting use of stand mixer to add sugar to eggy pecans - will try with truvia soon for my diabetic husband - who eats these as is, but would do better w/out the sugar! THANK YOU! (Found a similar recipe on food.com, but it called for 1/2 stick of butter per pound of nuts - which is nutz!)

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
OMG! I made a few changes - I didn't bother to brown the ribs, filled bottom of dutch oven with shredded cabbage and sliced onion, placed ribs on top - mixed all other ingredients - including the 2 T flour - and poured over top. Covered it up tight, baked at 250 for 5 hrs - and we ate every bite!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
Great flavor! Subbed fr onion dip for green onions / sr cream due to kitchen stock. Let cool for 6 hours before rebaking - and would reccommend using 400 degrees if you let it sit 1st - was a bit soupy bt figure that's my fault. Also put 1/2 recipe up in the freezer for another night. Thank you!
