Hi, I'm Sonny Edmonds. I'm a heart patient, NOT a heart attack "victim". What I was doing was not enough and it led to what the girls are calling "The widow maker" heart attack. The right ventricle area. March 27, 2010 was "D" day for me. 3 days in ICU, another in special care, I'm home… MORE

About this Cook
I'm what I call a "Budding Cook". Just a beginner by most standards, but energetic and willing to experiment. Even if it's bad, it's good and I'll eat it. Adventurous and willing to learn.
My favorite things to cook
Grilled veggies and salmon, Skinless chicken breast, just about anything I can grill. I used to love stuff that brought me to clogged arteries. Now I have turned completely around and I'm on track to cleaning up my act, and arteries out. Please share with me as this new path unfolds.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Open flame grilling, and grilling on cast iron on the stove indoors.
My cooking triumphs
Heck, anything others are willing to eat made by me is a triumph. And so far, its been pretty encouraging.
My cooking tragedies
Burned fish. Well, more like fish jerky really. Man, that was awful! But we picked through it before throwing a lot of it away. Learning every day.

Salmon with Lemon and Dill
Wonderful! Since I am the only fish eater in the house, I reduced the recipe to 1 serving. I love Salmon, and I had corn and brockley with it. I used the remaining Butter-Lemon in the baking pan for the vegetables. Since I am a low sodium heart patient, I omitted the added salt, and used Smart Balance spread instead of butter. It was super easy for me to make, and I loved the flavor. Since my Salmon is frozen and individually wrapped, it makes it very easy for me to do single portions for just myself when I feel like having fish. A bonus was the wife was having shrimp for her lunch with brockley. So she wasn't bothered by the aroma of my fish baking. As a rank amateur cook, this is one of my new favorite recipes. Thanks!
