About this Cook
I spend most of my time in self study learning about techniques and recipes from my Culinary books and lesson plans. My business takes me to private party homes to coach individuals on how to better their time management, food prep, budgeting and menus, and how to make the "dreaded" mealtime more fun and productive.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are those dishes I have never prepared before. I then take the new dish out to random individuals for an official taste test. I love it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Family cooking traditions are few and far between. The most important tradition extends to the company I keep and the enjoyment of building community from within the home through the sharing of a meal.
My cooking triumphs
I have many cooking triumphs...yet the best one is the one I look forward to each and every day. Still, there was that buffet for 1500 people I managed to pull together with only a 72 hour notice...and all items and food were donated by the community.
My cooking tragedies
My greatest tragedy was when I had everything set up for a wedding, went in to get dressed, and was going to take pictures...however, someone had "opened the gates" and after all of my hard work...I lost my photo opportunity. I also managed to salvage a 3 tiered wedding cake with custard centers, after it had slid almost completely off. Fortunately, the bride was not wearing her glasses, and the photographer was able to angle the photo-shoot to coordinate the "illusion" of a perfect cake!

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake
This is a wonderful recipe! I agree that it makes too much for one bundt cake, so another alternative is to purchase single serve size bundt cake pans to manage the overflow. Also, I think I will prepare it with bittersweet chocolate next time, as I am more of a chocoholic. I used the "Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake Glaze" from this site. It was more than enough for this cake, so it will provide enough glaze for additional mini's as well...however; once again, I think I will use the bittersweet chocolate for it next time. Both recipes are very good, and VERY simple to make. Thank you for sharing these recipes with us all!

Mochiko Chicken
This is exactly what I was looking for. Moist and tender, flavorful and perfectly browned. I took the extra time to make sure the tendons and connecting tissues were removed. It was worth the time spent!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I have never used this technique, but I will always use it from now on. The only change I made, was to add more sauce and apples to end up with a fantastic 2" tall pie. I did place foil around the edges until the last 15 minutes of cooking. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
