Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Eventhough this recipe was a little difficult to follow, the end result was mighty tasty. I know, however, it will be even better the next time I make it. The things I have to remember are to cook the sauce a little longer until it's thicker. (I turned off the heat because the recipe said to and it didn't thicken enough.) I needed to use a non-stick wok or fry pan as I lost a lot of the batter because it stuck to the pan. I didn't take notice to the recipe stating "self-rising flour". Which if I had, I would have added baking powder to my all purpose flour. It was my own fault for the oversight. Even with these minor problems we had NO leftovers!

Gaye's Microwave Fudge

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
I have been searching for this recipe for some time now. It is similar to the one my mother made on the stove when I was little. It is very rich and you do not need to eat much to satisfy a chocolate crave. I used Hershey's unsweetened cocoa and Domino's confectioner's sugar. After reading reviews, I felt it was important to sift. Because I don't own a sifter, I used a large strainer and a spoon. It turned out WONDERFUL! Thank you WHATCITY for sharing and bringing back memories!

Grilled Fish Steaks

EXCELLENT! I used flounder; it had a great taste and was so easy to make. Because it is January, I baked it on a cookie sheet until it was easily flaked with a fork. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Pina Colada Sorbet

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
EXCELLENT! Just like a frozen Pina Colada. If you like Pina Coladas, you'll love this. It was a huge hit tonight when the temperatures went into the 90's. I left out the lime juice because I didn't have any. Hubby claims he likes it just the way it is. Thank you CALLALILLIE for such a fantastic recipe!

Cranberry Sauce Chicken II

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This was surprisingly good! As the weather changed and we could not barbeque, I needed a recipe using 2 bone-in chicken breasts. Because I didn't have Russian dressing I substituted with 1/4 cup ketchup and 1/4 cup mayo as I was using only half the recipe. I put the cranberry mixture under the skin as well as on top. I cooked them for 1 hour in a stoneware rectangular baker with the lid on. They turned out to be the most juiciest, flavorful chicken breasts ever.

Zucchini Nut Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
A friend had given me some zucchini a week or so ago. I grated and premeasured what I didn't use and froze in zip lock bags of 1 cup each. I used a bag of frozen zucchini for this recipe. It turned out AWESOME! Everything was according to the recipe. I used all the liquid that came out of the frozen zucchini. However, I did skip the raisins because I don't care for them in cookies. Thank you Maureen Pruitt for such an AWESOME recipe!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! I used Empire apples and finished the recipe in the skillet as I was using my oven for two other recipes. I thought this would be good because I always serve applesauce with pork chops; but, it was AMAZINGLY GOOD!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Very Good! No changes are needed. I skipped the curry powder only because I didn't have any. I used 2 chicken breasts and cut the recipe in half. It was very moist and flavorful with a very pleasant aroma. Will be making again.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
EXCELLENT! Very moist and delicious. I cut the recipe in half as there are only two of us. A friend had given me a bag of zucchini; so while I had my little mess made, I grated all the zucchini and placed a cup full in zip lock bags and froze for later ease in making this again. This is a genuine "keeper". Thank you v monte for sharing!

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This was a very unique way to make baked potatoes. I didn't have any seasoned dry bread crumbs so I put a couple pieces of bread in the toaster and flaked them into a bowl adding italian seasonings. I found I used a little more butter than what the recipe called for but that was my desire. The end result was excellent. I will add garlic next time.
