Chinese Fried Walnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
"Oh my goodness, these are so stinkin good!" I am so happy I came across this recipe today. It makes for a nice little snack. As there are 4 cups of walnuts in a pound, I only used 1 cup walnuts and 1/4 cup sugar. It would be dangerous to have too many of these around! I will remember this recipe for the holidays. Thank you Valerie for sharing your recipe!

Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
GREAT RECIPE! I was able to fill 30 large shells. I substituted fresh spinach for the frozen spinach. Prior to baking I sprinkled it with onion powder and garlic powder. It was a last minute decision as I was trying to follow the recipe exactly but really felt it needed seasoning. It came out wonderful and I will make it again. Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper were available to season individually. Thank you Jena Coffey for sharing such a GREAT recipe!!

Cranberry Pecan Muffins

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
EXCELLENT! I filled the muffin pans almost to the top and they domed nicely. I used chopped walnuts in place of pecans as we prefer them. I used large granulated sugar crystals for the tops. The batter was really thick so I was happy to find Scotdog's review. I didn't worry. They taste wonderful but next time I won't chop the cranberries as much because I love a burst of flavor. Thank you Marilyn Gorham for an EXCELLENT recipe!

NILLA® Sand Cups

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
YUMMY, QUICK AND EASY! Living at the shore, I was looking for a dessert that would carry a seashore theme. These sand cups were the answer. They were very tasty and easy to make. I used Swedish Fish Aquarium Life candy to decorate. Thank you Jell-o for sharing your recipe!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
VERY GOOD! I doubled the sauce and served rice with this dish. Hubby and I both enjoyed the flavor. I had mine on top of the rice and Hubby had his rice on the side. I will be making this again. Thank you Kim for sharing this VERY GOOD recipe!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
AWESOME! These definitely tasted like a cinnamon sugar donut only bite size. I used butter as I didn't have any margarine and they were "Oh so good"! They took such little time to make. Hubby loved the little crunch they had. This is the second time I've made these and they came out perfect once again. I got 18 muffins and baked them for the full 20 minutes. If you are afraid they will be too sweet, just dip the top and roll in the sugar mixture. They will pick up less sugar that way. Thank you Diane for such an AWESOME recipe!

French Toast Stars

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
VERY GOOD! I liked the orange and cinnamon flavor. In place of heavy cream, I used half and half. Instead of cutting out stars, I cut the bread in half and then from corner to corner and stood the pieces up to make it look like a starfish. I had seen this done before, here at the shore. I served them with orange slices and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Thank you NIK928 for a VERY GOOD recipe!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
This recipe was very easy to put together because I had all the ingredients on hand. I doubled the recipe to make a full spice jar. I made tacos with it and they were amazingly good. This seasoning will be used in my household from now on. Thank you BILL ECHOLS!

Funnel Cakes II

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
FANTASTIC! Just like what you get at the fair! I didn't have a funnel so I cut the corner of a zip-lock bag after I poured in the batter. I found when making them to keep space as you drizzle so you do not get clumps. I used two spatulas to make turning them easier. When draining on a paper towel, be sure to dab the top or turn them over. I used Crisco oil as I feel it makes food less greasy. Thank you Sally for sharing this FANTASTIC recipe!

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
PERFECT! I made this according to the recipe and it was perfect. I used "light" mozzarella sticks and had no mess. I followed the instructions and only fried 30 seconds. The bread coating was so delicious that I went back and double coated the remainder. I froze some of the sticks to be used at a later date. This recipe is a "keeper"! Thank you Nanci Renn for sharing.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
GREAT recipe! No changes to the recipe were made or needed. I used a zip lock bag to marinate, turning it over every so often to get good coverage. I added bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and fresh pineapple chunks, which I did not marinate, to the skewers. Thank you simmig for sharing such a GREAT recipe!

Citrus Ice

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
AWESOME! I doubled the recipe and used fresh fruit that I put through my juicer. I'm glad I did because every stir cried out for a taste! The taste and texture was awesome. I'm going to make it again and freeze overnight as I feel it would make a fabulous sorbet. Thank you Taste of Home Test Kitchen for an AWESOME recipe!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
EXCELLENT recipe! This has always been our favorite chocolate chip cookie. Because I usually buy the large bag and keep the chips in a canister, I was happy to find written on the bag that there are 2 cups of chips in a 12 oz. bag. I left the nuts out because that is the way we like them. The baking time is perfect. This recipe has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Thank you Nestle for an EXCELLENT recipe!

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
PERFECT! I needed to make deviled eggs for Mother's Day and forgot to buy them ahead of time. This recipe saved the day! I have never been able to peel fresh bought eggs. I followed this recipe to a "T", even measuring the water. It worked perfectly. Thank you Ken for sharing this PERFECT recipe. I raved about this recipe to my daughter. We used it while making our Mother in Law eggs for a party. The eggs wouldn't peel. Perhaps she didn't measure as carefully as I did...the solution is we put them in the freezer for 5 minutes and they peeled like a charm! If an egg gives you a problem try the freezer for 5 minutes.
