Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
EASY & DELICIOUS!! I followed this recipe with the exception of using fresh oregano from my garden. My plan was to taste and add what seasonings it needed to make it according to our likes. To my surprise it didn't need a thing. It just seemed too easy. Perhaps that's why it's named "Easy Pizza Sauce" III. I will be making my own pizza sauce from now on. I froze what I didn't use in premeasured containers. Thank you Brent for sharing your EASY & DELICIOUS recipe!

Grilled Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
OUTSTANDING! Grilling pizza was a whole new experience for me. When I saw it mentioned on the "buzz", I checked out this recipe and it just seemed so perfect. I didn't have wheat flour so I used 3 1/2 cups of all purpose. The dough was so nice to work with and the directions were easy to follow. We love thin crust pizza and this recipe was crunchy and nice. I also love the fact that there are more frozen in my freezer. Thank you mom4girls for sharing your recipe! I sure hope it gets published!

Churros

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
YUMMY! So easy and simple to make! This is the perfect ending for a Cinco de Mayo meal. I used a 13MM star tip and piped a 4-5 inch strip into the hot oil. I fried them four at a time in my "Fry Daddy". They floated to the top as they cooked and browned nicely. The dough was so nice to work with. Once drained on paper towels, I put them in a bowl of sugar and cinnamon with a lid and shook gently. They are absolutely YUMMY! Thank you Delia for sharing your recipe!

Ranch Style Popcorn Seasoning

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
TASTY! It only took minutes to put together. I was worried the vegetable oil would make it too moist but I measured it carefully and mixed it in very thoroughly. Once the seasonings appeared that they would sprinkle, I added them to a popped bag of microwave popcorn and shook the bag. I used the whole recipe on one bag of popcorn and it seasoned it nicely. It was a new TASTY snack for tonight's ballgame that we really enjoyed. Thank you Leo M. Lalande for sharing your recipe.

Pull-Apart Easter Blossom Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
BEAUTIFUL! This has to be one of the best looking coffee breads around! It was a fun thing to make and has so many possible ways to flavor it. I used the "Cheese Filling" recipe from this site and spread it over the dough prior to cutting the strips. I was looking for a cheese danish flavor and it went so well with the raspberry. I used a pizza wheel to cut the strips and also used a pizza pan for baking it. To apply the raspberry preserves, I used a pastry bag so I could squeeze a nice amount into the blossoms. So YUMMY! Love that raspberry flavor! Thank you Sarah-May for sharing such a BEAUTIFUL YUMMY recipe!

Tangy Pear and Blue Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
FABULOUS! I used iceburg lettuce and added dried cranberries to the juicy pear, blue cheese and walnuts which really made for a tasty combination. The dressing is fantastic and not overpowering. Since I did not use two heads of lettuce nor did I measure the salad ingredients, I served the dressing on the side. This salad was the best part of dinner. Next time I'm going to add chicken and it will be dinner!! Thank you LARAL for sharing such a FABULOUS recipe!!!

Bird Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
FUN recipe, super tasty! A sweet dinner roll. The only changes I made were to add the beak prior to baking, use peppercorns for the eyes, and use parchment paper in place of greasing baking sheets. I placed the beak prior to baking because I wasn't sure where to place it, and if I moved it, it wouldn't leave any marks. They came out excellent! I am very pleased with this recipe. It was easy to work with and I will be using it again. Thank you Margaret Fowler for sharing. My flock of birds are just too cute for words!

VERY GOOD! I served these carrots with flounder and mashed potatoes; and, they not only were tasty, they added a nice color to the dish. I will definitely be keeping this recipe. Thanks for sharing FROGHOPPER!

Apple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
EXCELLENT TASTE! I used cookie cutters in place of slits and covered the crust with sugar crystals. I used Granny Smith apples at room temperature and allowed the pie to cool before cutting. It was runny and the apples were undercooked. Although I cut the apples thin, they must need to be cut super thin. I must say the ingredients were EXCELLENT so the time and temperature must be off. I compared this recipe to others and the difference I saw was they were cooked at a high temperature first and then turned down to a lower temperature. I think I'll try it that way next time. Thank you Maggie Greene for sharing your recipe. The taste is EXCELLENT, it just needs a way to get the apples done without burning the crust.

Ciabatta Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
While looking for a bread to go with seafood bisque, I came across this recipe. I followed it exactly and couldn't have been more pleased. I hardly had to touch the dough as it dumped easily onto the floured board and I covered it. I used a knife to cut it in half and once again it was pleasant to work with. The taste was perfect as the crust was very crunchy and crisp. It was just perfect for our soup. It would also make a great dipping bread as Christina stated. This is definitely a keeper amongst my recipes! Thank you Marina for sharing!

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
FANTASTIC! I used left-over chicken and home-made chicken broth but I really feel the fresh parsley made this recipe extra special. I tried keeping to the recipe, but also used a bottom crust as that's the way we like it. This was "Oh so good!" Thank you Corwynn Darkholme for sharing such a FANTASTIC recipe!

Crispy Herb Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
VERY GOOD! I used boneless skinless chicken which I cut into strips and pounded thin. It took about half the time to bake. I too was wondering where the herbs were, but served this with "clone of a pretzel dip" and it was very tasty! Thank you DCANTER for sharing your recipe!

Yummy Apple Pound Cake

MOIST & DELICIOUS! This cake is excellent! The walnuts mixed with the fruit gives it great flavor. A little cinnamon would be a nice addition but not necessary. It's just a personal preference. Thank you Gigi for sharing your recipe!

JELL-O® JIGGLERS®

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
So EASY! I used fish shaped molds which I sprayed with non-stick cooking oil. It only took an hour for them to set. This makes for a great late-night snack. They would really look cute sitting on top of a salad. Thank you Jello for another great recipe!

Winter Blossom's Often Requested Ham Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
This is a great recipe for using left-over ham. It was so easy to put together. I chopped the ham but then decided I should have used the food processor so I grabbed my "smart stick" and gave a couple pulses to make it just the consistency I desired. I only had 1/2 lb. of ham so I changed the servings to 4 and left the recipe recalculate itself. (I love that feature!) With Easter coming, this recipe will definitely be used again. Thank you Blonddee for sharing!

Jelly-Filled Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
I made this for the recipe group also, and I am so happy I participated this week! A WINNER here!! Before spooning the batter into the muffin cups, I divided it in half to assure myself of having enough for the second spooning. As I was spooning the batter, I realized that each muffin could have a different jelly filling. What a great way to make a variety of flavors. The only change I made was to use fresh nutmeg in the same amount. Once in the oven they rose so beautifully. They tasted EXCELLENT! This recipe is a real keeper! Thank you Darlene Markel for sharing!

REFRESHING & FRUITY! This recipe is perfect as written and needs no changes. The texture reminded me of the homemade "yum yums" that were sold on the streets in the 1950"s. Thank you Kim Hammond for sharing such a refreshing fruity treat!

JELL-O® Beans

These are a favorite snack of ours. At Easter, I fill little plastic cups with them as a treat for our Easter egg hunt. The little ones really enjoy them. During the year, a bowl of them in the refrig makes for easy snacking. Thank you JELL-O!

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
FANTASTIC! This recipe really made for a FANTASTIC loaf of bread. I plumped the raisins before adding. I added them by just sprinkling them over the brown sugar and cinnamon. Although I measured the filling, the next time I will just sprinkle it on as needed. Thank you Dmseck for such a FANTASTIC recipe!
