Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I made this for the RECIPE GROUP. I followed the recipe using all the ingredients; but, because I wanted a cold appetizer, I used the mozzarella as a garnish rather than melting it in the oven. I only used the flesh of the tomato not the seeds or juice. When it first got done, I was very disappointed in the taste. I just didn't like the pepper, it was too strong. (Perhaps my fault) After refrigeration of a few hours, it was "knock your socks off" good! All the flavors blended and it was totally delicious! I served the bruschetta separate, as I didn't want the bread to get soggy. I will be using this recipe often, infact I'll be making it again tomorrow. Thank you Joy for sharing!

Not Thousand Island Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2014
EXCELLENT! I followed the recipe exactly but allowed a heavy hand when it came to the horseradish. I couldn't wait to try this so I used it on a ham and swiss cheese sandwich. My Rueben's are going to be so much better now that I have your magic sauce! Thanks Mike!!

Lucky's Quickie Chickie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
EXCELLENT! This recipe came together so quickly and was so super yummy that I know I will be making it again and again. I used chicken breasts which I cut into medallions because that is what I had on hand. The only thing different I will do next time is to pound them thin so they will be more tender and soak up more of that delicious sauce. Oh yes, and definitely make extra sauce. It is soo good! Thank you Lucky Noodles for sharing such an EXCELLENT recipe!! I only wish I had tried it sooner!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
PERFECT! Having seen so many friends claim this to be the best, I just had to try it. It was so easy to make and the cooking time was perfect for me. I used parchment paper to line my cookie sheets and the cookies lifted off so nicely after cooling about 3 minutes. Thank you ELIZABETHBH for sharing your recipe!

The Ultimate Burger Topping

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
YUM! This recipe is definitely for us! We love blue cheese and what's not to like about bacon! My only change was to use sliced onions on the burgers. There's no doubt about it, I will be using this as a dip also. Thank you Christina for sharing such a YUMMY recipe! It's a "keeper"!

Roasted Garlic

Reviewed: May 29, 2014
This turned out great but needed to be roasted for at least an hour at a higher temperature. I roasted it at 335 degrees for about 70 minutes. Thank you CONI67 for sharing your recipe!

Irish Cream Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 11, 2014
YUMMY!! I used 1 cup of 2% milk and 3 cups of heavy cream as I didn't have half-and-half. My only other change was to use vanilla bean paste in place of vanilla extract. This is as close to sticking to the recipe that I could get without running to the store. I packaged it in a freezer container and presented it to my mother for Mother's Day along with a batch of homemade ice cream cones from this site. She absolutely LOVED it! How do I know it was good? Don't tell….I snuck a scoop! I will be making this again soon. Thank you Brandee for sharing such a YUMMY recipe!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2014
VERY GOOD AND CRISPY! To make this into a one dish meal, I added baby carrots and cut the potatoes into chunks. The timing was perfect. The chicken was crispy and the potatoes and carrots were perfectly seasoned. I didn't have fresh herbs so I had to use dried. I look forward to making this when my herb garden is in full swing. Thank you Sandy Witek for such a fabulous recipe!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
LOVED IT! I tried to stay as close to the recipe as possible using what I had on hand. I used 2% milk and because I did, I added another ounce of cheese. I only had bouillon, so I replaced the chicken broth with 7 cups of water and 7 teaspoons of bouillon. I thought the garlic may be a little too strong for us so I cut it to 1/2 teaspoon after reading some reviews. I did keep the butter amount the same as I felt it was for flavor as well as sautéing the onion. This is an absolutely wonderful recipe and I will be making it again. I'm going to use fresh broccoli next time as my frozen broccoli was chopped more than I would have liked. Thank you Karin Christian for sharing such a wonderful recipe!

Braised Corned Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
EXCELLENT! I knew a snow storm was coming so I purchased a corned beef brisket to make as a comfort meal. The snow storm came but I had forgotten to get "Kitchen Bouquet" and aluminum foil. As there was no going to the store, I substituted Yoshida's Original Gourmet sauce. I wasn't sure whether to go with my clay pot or slow cooker since I didn't have any foil. (They both have lids). Searching through the reviews, I saw that mis7up had success with the slow cooker so I chose that. (thank you mis7up!) It certainly couldn't have turned out any better. I also sliced the corned beef thin with my electric slicer so I can use it for sandwiches. Thank you Mauigirl for such a wonderful EXCELLENT recipe! It's a keeper!!

DELICIOUS! This is a nice blend of custard and sponge cake. I loved it served warm and hubby loved it cooled down. It's great either way. No changes are needed to the recipe. The cooking time was right on. Thank you Adrian for sharing such a DELICIOUS recipe!

CopyCat Starbucks Classic Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
EXCELLENT! I must admit that the footnotes confused me. I used the stated amount of ingredients and followed the recipe without doubling or tripling. I used a springform pan but it required much more time to bake in order to get the center done. I kept checking it with a cake tester but lost count of the time it took. Thank you Wicked Creations for sharing your recipe!

Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Chops

SIMPLY DELICIOUS! This was so simple to make and delicious as can be! I sprinkled the chops with garlic powder and covered with thin sliced onions as another reviewer suggested. I absolutely loved the way it flavored the whole dish. I served with sweet potato fries and brussel sprouts. Thank you Kathryn for sharing such a SIMPLE DELICIOUS recipe!

Creole Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
YUM! I did as the submitter suggested and made this in my slow cooker. It was so tender it fell off the bone. Only a fork was needed, no knife. My only change was to use a bottle of "Swamp Sauce", that I had brought back from a favorite restaurant in Florida (Rum Bay on Palm Island), in place of the tomatoes. This disappeared so quickly that I never got a photo. Next time! Thank you for sharing, EMMI331!

YUM! This is a simple recipe that I just love. No confusion as to what to do when. Love that it uses confectioner's sugar. The cherry really completes it. Thanks manilla for sharing your recipe! I'll use it many times over, I know.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2013
AWESOME! I wish this was for me! My only change was to use butter in place of margarine because it was what I had on hand. Long story short, this was one of the treats made for the fellows who load trucks with donated toys for the poor. It adds more joy to what they already experience. Thank you ANITALOUISE for sharing your AWESOME recipe!

Slow Cooker Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2013
VERY GOOD! I served this to guests last night with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and gravy. Because I cook for an army, when having company, I had some left over for tonight. This has really made things easy with all the Christmas treats I need to make. It also gave me a second opportunity to snap the photo that I missed taking last night. I must say, it doesn't take a pretty picture but it sure does taste good. I'll take the latter! Thank you Amian for sharing, I feel privileged being your first review!

EAGLE BRAND® Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
EXCELLENT! I was looking for another flavor fudge to add to my homemade gifts. I used white chocolate morsels in place of squares or bars. They melted so easily. I omitted the peanuts due to a diet restriction. This flavor fudge was a first for me and I found it truly peanutty! Thank you EAGLE BRAND® for sharing your recipe!

Homemade Marshmallow Creme

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
YUM! I have never made marshmallow creme before. I do believe I should have mixed it a little longer but it was perfect for spooning over our favorite ice cream. Hubby was really impressed! I will be making this again but I will cut back on the vanilla extract, personal preference. Thanks for sharing moaa, you have a winner here!!

Cranberry Cornmeal Linzer Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2013
This is A CRANBERRY LOVER'S DREAM! I had never used cornmeal in a cookie recipe before so I was curious as to how it would taste. The cookie was so delicate and with the burst of cranberry filling it was just divine! My only change was to sprinkle the finished cookie with confectioner's sugar. Larkspur, you really out did yourself on this one! Thanks for sharing!
