Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2013
This was way too sweet for my family (including 4 kids), and I prefer less flour more oats. Only change I made was grating a stick of frozen butter, instead of melting and mixing, to make the topping more crumbly. I do like that it filled a 9x13, I've always had to double or triple recipes in the past. I will modify to our likings, great starting point though.

Lavash Cracker Bread

My husband is a master roller I guess. I told him paper thin, and they were more like cracker tasting chips lol. Pretty good with our soup though.

Mom's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2013
So good!! I love that it's all fresh ingredients, no canned milk or pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice etc. I roasted my pumpkin and then pureed in the blender. I think I may cut down on the milk a tad and add a little extra spice, but as is, it's still a 5 star recipe. To do this recipe justice I made pie crust and whipped cream from scratch too! I think I can get 2 pies from this, as I filled the shell to the top and had a lot left over! I'm impressed and can't wait to show off my new skills this season :-)

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
Simple and delicious! I was tempted to use ground ginger bc I have never used fresh. I didn't and I am so glad. It wouldn't have been the same! I subbed frozen sugar snap stirfry veggies, but other than that followed directions to a T. Everyone loved it, and I will make it often. Thanks!!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2013
Wow this makes great steak!!! Used black pepper bc I didn't have white, and used fresh minced garlic instead of dried. Don't think those changes made a difference in taste. Amazing!!

Candied Yams

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
This is how my mom has made these for years. She melts the butter and mixes it with the sweet potato juice, and brown sugar, and adds cinamon. Pours over the sweet potatoes and bakes til hot. Then she adds the marshmallows and ups the temp on the oven to brown them. Same recipe different technique.

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
Very good! I've always used this basic recipe which is really good. This time I tweaked some using reviewers tips. I used less milk and added sour cream. That made it soooo creamy. Also used roasted garlic and mushroom soup instead of plain mushroom. The best!

Added rice crispies. A great addition to our Halloween buffet! I'm not a fan of dipping in the white choc, but maybe that's just me :)

We made green witch fingers. They turned out great... The dough was good, but they were too gross looking for me to taste after we finished them lol. We will make these every year!

Crescent Mummy Dogs

Kind of a pain to roll, but they were the crowd favorite at our halloween party. I didn't use the cheese. I will use this year round for the kids, thankfully saving the mummy technique for only once a year!
