About this Cook
I have always enjoyed cooking and now with the usual age related medical conditions I have to be careful of sodium, oxcilate, and fat. This program really helps.
My favorite things to cook
Basic meals either for one or that I can freeze in individual serving portions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Basic healthy food that you can taste the individual items, not just the seasoning.
My cooking triumphs
Bombay Chicken that is baked in an oven. An old recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Christmas dinner after going to the dentist where the nerve that connected my taste buds was nicked. I almost got run out of town for the amount of spice and salt I used because I couldn't taste anything.

Parmesan Brussels Sprouts
The only problem I have is the amount of fat (butter) in this recipe. So I decided that it is so good that I would cut back in the other dishes served at the meal.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy
Made this as written and for me it was a bust. Shame but I guess everybodys 'tweaks' help them.

Baked Mac and Cheese for One
Way too bland and no cheesy sauce! I suggest using 1/2 the flour, twice the onion powder, milk, mustard and using old sharp cheddar cheese. Add the milk to the cooked rue and broil 1- 2 minutes after baking to crisp the topping.
