Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
Absolutely delicious! I followed this recipe exactly, except instead of adding the butter and flour I added a little cornstarch and water, since I was trying to make it more healthy. It tastes wonderful! I will definitely make this again.

Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
Wonderful! I tried the recipe as written, except I had to substitute pork steaks, since that was what I had. I marinated for around 6 hours, then used a grill pan. (My cooking time had to be approximately doubled per side.) This is a great go-to recipe, and it adds a lot of flavor to the pork! I served them with seasoned brown rice and roasted cauliflower. It is definitely one of my husband's favorite recipes!

Banana Bread VIII

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
I made this recipe for my vegan brother and his wife. It was my first vegan bread attempt, and I thought it looked suspiciously "wrong" before cooking it, but it did turn out great. They loved it, and we non-vegans gave it a shot and thought it was good too. This bread has a strong banana flavor, which hides any thought that ingredients are missing. I'm not going to swap this for my current banana bread recipes, but for those with dietary restrictions, this one is a winner!

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
Excellent cookies! Easy to make and tastes delicious. I had a bag of PB Chips that was 1 2/3 cups, and I thought there were still plenty in the cookies. I'm excited to try variations on this nice chocolate cookie base. Thanks - this is a winner!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2012
Excellent, and so easy! I've made these several times. TIP: I did everything in just one bowl - microwaved the shortening to melt it, and while it was cooling I got out the other ingredients. No sifting - just chucked everything in together and stirred. They get tastier over the next couple of days... if they last that long! For me, I made WAY more cookies than the serving size states, and I was carefully following the directions.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
Meh. They were OK, but not nearly as good as I thought they would be. Not much flavor to them at all, and I even added cinnamon and blueberries, as reviewers suggested. The only flavor in these puppies was when I bit into a blueberry. I might try again trying to add something that might amp up the taste. WARNING - Mine stuck to the muffin papers, big time.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
Very good! I added oregano instead of parsley (since that was what I had). I wish I had gone with the advise of previous reviewers and shredded my onions - I think that would have helped. Very juicy! I added the whole egg, and it came out great!

Honey Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 16, 2012
Really very nice and versatile muffins. Some people mentioned the slightly strange "no oil" texture, but I didn't notice. Neither did my husband, and he'd never had a "healthy" muffin before. You should definitely try this! I added walnuts, and next time I make it I think I'll try some chopped apples!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Absolutely delicious, and it tastes even better over the next few days. I followed the recipe exactly, except I substituted walnuts instead of pecans, since I didn't have any pecans at home. This recipe is a winner! I'm going to be giving this bread to family members this Christmas. (A pan is in the oven now!) :)

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
This recipe is awesome! I made it exactly as the recipe states, then I made it a few more times, making changes to make it healthier. Check out Debbie S' review for some great ideas. I tried: 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3/4 cup chunky applesauce instead of butter (this substitution works great and makes it taste even better!), raisins, walnuts, and whatever fruit I have on hand (chopped apples, cranberries, blueberries, etc.). I like my baked oatmeal "chunky" (lots of fruit in it), but with these modifications, it will hold together well. I bake it at night and pop it in the fridge. Then I slice it and eat it on-the-go with a cup of coffee.
