Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Yummy! I had about twice as much breadcrumbs as I needed, but other than that thought the recipe was spot on. I had a tub of Rondele Garlic & Herb cheese spread my hubby had bought and I had no idea what to do with it, until I found this. I seasoned some plain breadcrumbs with a few shakes of garlic powder, Tastefully Simple's Onion Onion, some roasted garlic seasoning and black pepper and everything came out great. We all really enjoyed it!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
You cannot go wrong with this chowder base! You can use whatever ingredients you want in place of ham and make it your own - I had some bacon wrapped cheesy chicken and corn I wanted to use so I tossed that in instead of ham but otherwise followed the recipe precisely and this was DELICIOUS! So easy, perfectly seasoned and the texture was just the right thickness and so creamy. We loved it!!

Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2013
Super yummy! I loved this dish! Reheats really well too - wrap in foil and bake in oven 20-30 minutes until heated through. Next time I'd pre-cook the sausage before combining into the filling - the texture was a little "soft" to me being baked only and I kept wondering if it was actually fully cooked; other than that this is an awesome dish!

The Best Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2013
This was SO YUMMY!! We put steaks in to marinate the night before and cooked them about 24 hours later - DELICIOUS recipe. I really liked this on the thicker cut steak - it was a little strong in flavor on the thinner pieces but really perfect for a thick cut of meat.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This recipe is fantastic! I left out the raisins/currants, used reduced fat sour cream and fat free millk (since that is what I keep in my refrigerator) and I omitted the salt but used salted butter. They came out BEAUTIFUL. Gorgeous golden brown scones, light and fluffy but dense and very filling. My son LOVES them and is often a picky eater when it comes to trying new things, and this was his first "scone experience". They are perfect with some blackberry jam. They are great reheated too, I covered with foil and popped them in the oven on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 350 and they were piping hot and still so soft in the middle. I am sure these are going to become requested regularly for weekend breakfasts at my house.

Deli Style Brisket

Very simple, very tasty! I didn't make the gravy, just boiled some potatoes, carrots and celery to serve next to the brisket.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
I whipped these up last night - super easy recipe and SO tasty! I made half the recipe and put it in a 7x11 pan and they were a little on the thin side, so I'd probably use a smaller casserole dish next time so they'll be a little thicker. My husband is a HUGE Reeses fan, so I know he's going to love these. I do think you can get away with less butter than the recipe calls for, and I'll probably cut it down by 1/3 next time and see how it comes out. Thanks for the great recipe! :)

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I cannot WAIT for our next family get together so I can bake and bring this pie. It is BEAUTIFUL to look at with the gorgeous rich brown color from the sauce on the pastry. I followed the recipe exactly as written and am thrilled with the results. I used Pie Crust IV (which was a wonderful pie crust recipe) and was really, really happy with the results. The taste is absolutely terrific, creamy sauce, and perfectly flavored tender apples. Lovely! :)

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Great recipe (I didn't change anything other than using quick oats and milk chocolate chips). I think the cinnamon added a nice complexity to the flavor. I made only 13 cookies with the full recipe since we like larger cookies. :) For the first batch I rounded the dough into balls and they were nice and thick, I flattened the second batch and think I prefer the balled cookies since they have such a nice moist center. They were very fudgy in the middle. I really enjoyed these. And they definitely go great with a glass of milk!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
Oh my gosh!! After reading some of the reviews and all the changes/additions, etc. I wondered what this would actually taste like all by itself. I found out. It's GOOD stuff. Pure and simple comfort food! I made this just as written, but I halved it and I put it on low heat for 11 hours while I was at work (I prepared it the night before and put it in the fridge, when I got up I plugged in the crockpot just before I left the house and set it on low). When I got home, I rolled out the biscuits so they were nice and thin and used a pizza cutter to cut each one into 5-6 strips and threw them into the pot; I stirred it well to make sure they all were covered in liquid and would cook completely. I turned the heat up to high and set a timer for 60 minutes. I checked at 45 and they were cooked through and beautifully soft and doughy on the outside still. I went ahead and added a drained can of mixed peas & carrots after turning the heat off, and mixed it a couple times to break up the chicken chunks and warm the veggies then served. YUMMY. This is awesome just as its written, it is a lot of dumplings for the amount of chicken/liquid - but I liked it that way. :) Thanks for a GREAT and easy work night recipe!!

I didn't have pea pods, but I made this with just baby carrots and LOVED the way it came out! Super easy, and so tasty! Perfect light honey flavor to compliment the veggies.

Barbecued Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
This is a great and simple BBQ Chicken pizza, I don't think it would be nearly as tasty without a home made pizza crust (I used Jay's Signature Pizza Crust). I diced my red and green bell pepper instead of julienne slicing (my son isn't a fan, and if they're in smaller pieces he doesn't seem to notice them much). We used Kraft Honey BBQ sauce and followed the directions and ingredents. It was very tasty and easy! I boiled and shredded my chicken and diced the veggies and sauteed them while my pizza dough was rising and it worked out well.

Slow Cooker Manly Stew

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Super easy and VERY tasty! Great gravy. :) I think next time I'd add a can of mushrooms to it. We served this over egg noodles, I think it would be even better over creamy mashed potatoes (next time)! :) My son gobbled it up and wanted seconds. :) I only used about 3/4 a packet of onion soup mix to help cut down on the saltiness and didn't find this salty at all. The meat is really tender and I'm looking forward to leftovers! :) (I did find this to be very much like stroganoff, but could see adding the potatoes, carrots, etc. making it easier to "see" as a stew)!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was great! Really enjoyed the chewiness, and the ease of working with the dough. I replaced about half the a.p. flour with whole wheat for a heartier flavor (and I prefer a wheat crust with BBQ chicken pizza in particular.) Used with Barbecued Chicken Pizza from this site.

Stef's Super Cheesy Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
This was FANTASTIC!! I made it with French Baguettes from this site; perfect together! I was a little worried when I was mixing it all together - thought it would be way too rich and too much topping too, but the flavor was really terrific, a very good mix and the broiling was the perfect touch, and it spread on thick but thins out when it bakes, yummy! :)

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Fabulous and simple sauteed apple recipe. I found my sauce to be a little thicker consistency than I would have preferred, so might cut down on cornstarch next time or add a little more liquid. I had a bunch of golden delicious apples I wanted to use up, and they worked just fine in this - though obviously were a lot softer and fell apart more than a granny smith would have! We served this over Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes and it was wonderful together!
