This is a "TNT" recipe I've been using for awhile now - discovered on AllRecipes and thoroughly enjoyed by all in our household! Quick, easy, just a couple ingredients and tastes fantastic - what more can you ask for in a pancake recipe?! One of the comments I wrote about this one is that … MORE

My husband graduated with his B.S. in Mathematics at the beginning of May and we didn't have a grad party or anything but Kent and I wanted to celebrate at home so we decided on a nice steak dinner that he might enjoy! I am VERY proud of him! It's been many long years since he first started… MORE

I stumbled over the original recipe at Healthy Food for Living and was more than intrigued by a slightly healthier version of a cinnamon roll (using whole wheat flour and applesauce!) and one that I could make within a couple hours without having to let the dough rise multiple times. I was… MORE

This was a GREAT meatloaf recipe that we all really enjoyed. I absolutely think I will continue using this one! It's got a great consistency and texture, wonderful flavor (how can you beat bacon and a sweet and tangy red sauce?!) And I love cooking it on the broiler pan so all the grease… MORE

The Pioneer Woman "kick" continues with this wonderful side dish! I had bought cube steak to make Fried Round and when I was browsing some Pioneer Woman recipes yesterday discovered this one and Hot Crash Potatoes and decided this would make a great dinner! I love glazed carrots, and the… MORE

I had my eye on Pioneer Woman's Chicken Parmigiana recipe and decided to try to throw that together one evening when Kenneth was feeling picky but Chicken Parm sounded good. I realized I didn't have the crushed tomatoes called for in the original recipe, so I decided instead to be a little… MORE

I was so excited to try this recipe out! I've been eyeballing it for over a month now. Kenneth very rarely will "let" me try out a shrimp dish at home - maybe I've had epic fails in the past, or maybe he's just weird about "new things" or maybe the answer lies somewhere in between.... who… MORE

I am going to try the cabbage soup diet out this week and see how I feel on it! I would like to lose about 10lbs and my eating habits have gotten a little "sloppy" over the past few months so I thought this might be a good kick start! I've seen some people say how "unhealthy" it is, but… MORE

About Me
I love preparing meals for my family, I grew up eating home cooked dinners as a child, and felt that time around the table was very special. It gives me a LOT of pleasure to prepare something my family enjoys!
My favorite things to cook
I cook with a lot of chicken, we prefer boneless, skinless breasts. I don't think I have a preference for a certain style of food, or ethnicity. I cook mainly simple, meat and rice/pasta/potatoes kinds of meals. I enjoy trying different flavors and fixing new recipes. We enjoy italian, southern, mexican, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's sort of a tradition in our house to have biscuits and gravy every weekend, usually Saturday morning. My husband grew up in the South, and it's comfort food! I love preparing a Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner: Roast turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, and cranberry jelly... MMMMM!!!!
My cooking triumphs
I think I was pretty thrilled with myself the first time I successfully made a home-made pizza crust. I am also very good with homemade breads, and very proud of my banana and lemon poppy seed breads!
My cooking tragedies
I have two classic cooking tragedies from when I had just started cooking (age 16) - the first time was when I tried to thicken gravy by adding flour directly into the HOT liquid - LOTS of clumps... it was SOO gross! The 2nd time was when I tried to make my first white sauce, and I just could NOT get the flour to milk ratio right, it was pasty and disgusting!!! I've learned a lot since then, but those are classic OOPS memories!
