About this Cook
Retired from the Airlines after 30 years. I enjoy cooking and my wife loves having big partys around the pool, so the built in gas grill and the weber smoker really gets a work out in the summer months. We do appetizers on the grill first and people can snack and have a cold one while swimming or playing horse shoe or bocci ball or minature golf. always lots of fun with the family and the Grand Kids!
My favorite things to cook
On the Grill - Baby Back Ribs, Pork Loin, London Broil, Mexican, Chilli, Stew, All kinds of soups, Turkey either in the oven or on the grill,Honey-Glazed HAM on the weber smoker
My favorite family cooking traditions
As soon as the pool is warm enough the kids want to have a party and have baby back ribs. It can be a challenge now that the family gets bigger every year, but loads of fun.
My cooking triumphs
I think I have mastered the Baby Back Ribs or so everyone says that has eaten them, but I still have a disaster now and then. But that is what still makes it challenging to be better each time.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce
wonderful flavor. Best if you let set for a few days and it is also easier so you are not doing everything the same day and you are not rushed

Mushroom Pork Chops
Super easy and super good. Pork Chops are really tender and the gravy is so good on Mashed Potatoes. Veggie side of Green Beans with bits of bacon is great.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs
I made a few changes instead of catsup and Chili sauce I used KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce. I used the grill to sear the ribs and then placed them in the ctrock pot. It is so nice to come home to fresh BBQ ribs that tasted like they just came off the grill. Be careful when you remove from the crock pot because the meat will fall off the bones. Super recipe!
