I'm loving this recipe... works wonderful with all kinds of fresh fruit. Ok maybe not kiwi ...I have not tried kiwi yet....but peach, strawberry orange/cranberry for fall. Even chocolate chip & banana came out grand.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 26, 2013
Love the ease of this recipe. I'm a rib lover from way back and when I buy my ribs I remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and use a rib rub (KC Masterpiece sweet heat) then I vacuum pack them one rack to a seal a meal bag, for the freezer. So all I had to do was thaw wrap in foil and bake. At about the hour forty five minute mark I unwrap drain fat and pour on the Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce I make from Kevin find it here http://allrecipes.com/recipe/bourbon-whiskey-bbq-sauce/detail.aspx I love to cook but I love to enjoy my guests more so this recipe lets me do both.

Crock Pot Kalua Pig

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2013
I may have gone over board with the number of stars but .... I have a wide range of people to please at my table. 84 yr old MIL who is not to happy about new anything... hubs that can't have anything to spicy, grand kids that are the definition of picky oh and me a foodie . I made this with out any changes. Luck me found banana leaf in Mississippi ... way to go Winn Dixie ( grocery here). The whole family loved this... I will be adding it to the regular rotation. Thank you. In spite of all the salt ( I was worried about this) I didn't think it tasted too salty, neither did the rest of the family. Allrecipes needs to publish this one. Thank you again Mama Smith.

Cocoa Rum Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
I was looking for a quick filler for my cookie tray for hubs work three years ago when I found this one. It was perfect as is! I did make changes over the years. I now mix this in my food processor after I use it to crumb the vanilla wafers. I store the mix in an airtight container for two days then add 1/4 cup more rum. I use spiced run in place of the light rum. Then after two more days I roll into balls and in the confectioners' sugar. I think next year I may use a coconut rum and toasted coconut to roll them in. One year I ran out of rum and had to use some peach brandy I had in it's place, everyone loved them just as much. Hope this was helpful.

Brought back memories of girl scout camp. We called it campers stew and added 1 cup of barley to the pot. I like this one because I didn't have to look for bugs. ;)

Quick Pork Fried Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
Thank you Carrie for a quick tasty dinner. I cooked extra pork chops when I made my pineapple pork dinner the night before and used them in this. I cheated and used grated ginger in a tube I'm so lazy anymore same with the garlic. Those were the only changes I made. I will make this again and again. PS Daughter took my leftovers and ran.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
Ok I'm still not a big fan of brussels sprouts. This gets 4 stars because I did at least eat them, the household loved them. I did make one change and added roasted coriander to the short list of ingredients. I loved the bits of really crispy ones.

Sugar Free Christmas Cutouts

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
I added cocoa to this recipe and made bunny cutouts for my diabetic MIL for easter. No sugar free bunnies to be found. The only change was two table spoons cocoa . I used a splenda cornstarch & fatfree milk glaze to drizzle over them it dried nicely and the cookies were enjoyed by everyone.

Margarita Cake with Key Lime Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
Most awsome cupcake I have made in a year. So glad I gave it a try. Daughter was empressed with the moist cake, before I added the Cuervo via injetor. I made two kinds for my Birthday a doz. with tequila and a doz. without for non-drinkers. I went a little out on a limb with the tequila ones and added salt on top with a wedge of lime as garnish and just green sugar for the non alcoholic ones ,I had to use grated lime peel in the frosting because I had on lemons. The taste did not suffer. Will make again maybe for the southern round-up.
