About this Cook
I love to cook. I have always loved to cook. I started cooking with my great grand mother when I was 5, we made buttermilk biscuits and apple pies. When my great grand mother passed away in 1979 my mom taught me what she knew and I have been speeding along the cooking highway ever since.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook what I like to eat. I love vegetables, chicken, beef, turkey. I love to bake bread. I don't generally cook things that I don't like even if other family members do like them. Things like pork, seafood, odd meats like deer, frog legs, organ meat, stuff like that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think my favorite family cooking tradition has to be Thanksgiving dinner. We have a slow over-night roasted turkey, home-made turkey noodles, mashed potatoes, stuffy, pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce. I love this meal and it is even more special because my mom and great grand mother taught me how to make this. The last meal my great grand mother had before she passed in 1979 was Thanksgiving dinner. No matter what happens this will always be a meal I will fix for Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
I can't say that I have ever come across something that I couldn't make. I think the hardest thing has been when I had something in a restaurant that I really really liked and it took me a trouble of tries to perfect it at home. But, so far there hasn't been anything I couldn't fix when I wanted to.
My cooking tragedies
I love pot stickers and I have gotten the homemade wrappers down pat and I have the filling very close to what I consider perfect but there is a little something missing. This has been perhaps the biggest challenge I have had, but I am getting close. The journey to perfection however has been quite tasty.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
You need to understand that I hate meatloaf. The only reason I made this was because of friend of mine who had been eating mush for the last two weeks asked for meatloaf when I asked her over for dinner. THIS MEATLOAF IS AWESOME!!!!! I love it. So simple, so good!

Swiss Chicken Casserole II
This is a fantastic recipe. However I did make a couple of changes. First I cubed the chicken in to 1/2-inch cubes (boneless skinless chicken breast). I also added 1 cup of water to the stuffing, I don't like hard crunchy bread on the top of things, I used chicken stove top. Finally, I put on 1/2 cup of shredded jack cheese and then swiss. The stronger flavored jack with the swiss made for a wonderful flavor. Finally I add 1/4 cup of chicken stock to the broth as I wanted this a little more moist.
