Making Pasta
About this Cook
Wow, what can I say on a site like this that wouldn't be completely obvious and redundant? You know, stuff like "I really enjoy cooking." I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to cooking in that I like to either grow my own ingredients or start from scratch. For example, instead of buying ground meat, I grind it myself. I roast my own coffee (much better and a lot cheaper), etc. I am also a professional photographer and I find that the way I shoot is also the way I cook.
My favorite things to cook
I am still experimenting with different cuisines but I have developed a fascination and obsession with minimalism in cooking.
My cooking triumphs
Roasting my own coffee. If you haven't started, why not??
My cooking tragedies
Heh heh heh... years ago (before I learned to properly cook pasta), I had some friends coming over for dinner; I decided to make spaghetti. I used a large pasta pot to cook it in and filled it with pasta. Didn't know that you can actually put *too much* pasta in a pot. The gooey, solidified mass was entertaining to my friends and I ended up ordering pizza.

Greek Lemon Cake
My wife absolutely loves lemon-based dishes so I made this for her birthday not too long ago. She (and I) loved it so much I've made it a few times now. Two things I changed: I make sure I use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of the concentrate from the bottle and I use Greek yogurt. It's a subtle difference but I like the extra little zip.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World
A very tasty chili but I did find that I needed to add more cumin than the recipe called for.

Pancakes I
Nice, easy, and haven't had any trouble making this over and over and over for my wife and kids.
