I know we’ve all heard it a million time, eat less and exercise more. In theory its simple but in all practicality not so easy to implement, and for some of us it isn’t that simple. Sure I do eat A LOT of simple carbs and cheese, oh I do love cheese. However I cannot stand that people judge me… MORE

About this Cook
I am a self-taught cook with a passion for comfort foods. Soups, stews and casseroles are my faves. Having lost almost 30 pounds recently with another 40 or so to go has taught me an entirely new way to shop for, prepare and enjoy food. I am learning I don’t have to give up the types of foods I love, just the way I make them.
My favorite things to cook
whatever...I just like to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have lots of them. We try a new breakfast casserole everytime we bring breakfast to Sunday School and our Sunday night Bible study we all try to out do each other with our refreshments. Its a lot of fun to try new recipes to Wow everyone.
My cooking triumphs
I found a recipe for drunk chicken and smoked it. The most incredible chicken I have ever tasted. I wish I would have kept the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Oatmeal in the slow cookers. By Morning it was hard and crusty all around except the very center, which had the consistancy of paste.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pizza
Wow This is rich and SWEET! I made it with my 4 year old son and my 4 year old niece as helpers and it was so simple. I used all natural peanut butter with flax seed and the cooking crust was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chocolate chips didn't melt but got just soft enough to stick to the cookie. The marshmellows did make the cookie a challenege to cut but after cutting it who cares it was peanut buttery, chocolate gooyness to the max. LOVED IT!

Factory Workers Chicken
Not worth the cost of the ingredients. I followed the directions to a T. It was ok but not something I will set out to make again

Taco Bake I
I used ground turkey, light colby jack cheese and fat free refried beans to lighten it up. Since I was baby sitting a friends kids I let them use this as a dip with multigrain totsitios. It was tasty but I was at a loss as to what to serve with it. I will use it as a hot dip but itsn't practicle as a main dish.
