Ah! fresh crispy lettuce and herb croutons just waiting for some zesty italian dressing. I shook the bottle of the tart and tasty stuff over my bowl and suddenly the cap with the small hole fell off dumping out the entire bottle of dressing, splashing  it into my salad bowl, filling it… MORE

About this Cook
Oh enough about me.
My favorite things to cook
Love the slow cooker. Kitchen's best friend especially when you don't have a kitchen. Love deserts but then who doesn't? Deserts done in a slow cooker: NIRVANA
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom was a single Mom who labored in a dirty factory everyday to provide for my little sister and I. She cooked and made meals almost every night except Pizza Fridays (pizzas she made made and froze herself during the week) but dinner otherwise was basic. It would be disrespectful to the great woman my Mom is to complain that we really didn't have fabulous cooking traditions. She out did herself on Thanksgiving laboring more over the oven on these holidays from the factory. I loved her Yorkshire Pudding. Indeed I would be a horrible son to complain that most of the year we ate basic american meals. However, there are yet those in America that still go hungry on a daily basis. The fact that my resilient Mom was able to put food on the table every single day and never let us go hungry despite a work related back injury that left her debilitated - even bedridden for months at a time - earns her the title of Greatest Cook in the World in my book. I LOVE YOU MOM !!!!
My cooking triumphs
I have yet to achieve one but I promise when I finally do you can all read about it in my blog "Riverside Cafe" right here on AR. You'll have to check back often however to see if one actually happens.
My cooking tragedies
oh god. Do I have to fill this one out? Well there are only 940 characters remaining so there just won't be enough room to list even just a few of them. Besides I wouldn't want to waste all that effort I exerted to mentally repress the memory of the Coq au Vin Catastrophe of '97, the Halibut from Hell, the Coq au Vin Catastrophe '98 (the sequel), the Fajita Fiasco, the Calamity at the Coq au Vin Corral (now a terrifying trilogy) and the . . . well you get the picture.
