Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2014
Excellent apple pie. Easy. I mix spices in bowl, then mix in apples, then place in crust. That way the spices are evenly distributed. Used Rome apples and Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust from this site. My only pie crust from now on, flaky and delicious ( I freeze half of recipe, as it makes enough for 2 - 2 crust pies). Already planning next apple pie. Fantastic.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
This is an excellent crust. It is easy to work with and turned out very flaky and flavorful. My husband and I both loved it. Used it for the Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie from this site. Will use again.

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2014
My first double crusted baked strawberry pie and it was absolutely delicious. I reduced sugar to 3/4 cup and used tapioca instead of flour. Forgot to add butter, didn't miss it at all. Made with Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust from this site. Can't wait for dessert tonight. Hubby and I both declared it one of my best pies.

Chef John's Turkey Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2014
Very good way to use leftover turkey I had in freezer. Did not have tarragon or garam masala (never heard of it ), so I just used a small amount of poultry seasoning. This made a huge amount, I made three 8 inch casseroles, froze two for future, and the other fed hubby and I for two nights. This was a very mellow dish, no strong flavors, at least the way I made it, with the missing ingredients. Will definitely make again.

Raspberry Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
Absolutely delicious !!! 10 stars... I only make one pie from recipe, after reading reviews. But I cut the topping in half. Use a larger pie pan, or line your oven, as it will boil over, if you only make one pie. Add 15 mins. to baking time for 1 pie. Everyone wants seconds, and the recipe. Gave the recipe to 2 people today. I use un-thawed raspberries. Going to try canned pears next. Got 2 quarts delivered today from person that had a piece of this raspberry pie last night. Found recipe for almost identical recipe using pears from Allrecipes.com site. Will do that one next. LOVE THIS RECIPE..

Sour Cream Raspberry Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
Absolutely delicious, easy, everyone wants seconds and thirds !!!! And they want the recipe. I would give 10 stars,if I could... I only make one pie from the recipe. I make everything exactly as the recipe calls for, except I cut the topping in half as I am only making 1 pie. I up the cooking time about 15 min. because it is a very full pie. Also make sure you line your oven, as it will boil over a little, or use larger pie pan. I use frozen raspberries and do not thaw them prior to adding to batter... I have made it with and without the topping, delicious either way. Will make over and over. A favorite with family and friends... Keeper for sure. I am going to try other fruits, and berries with same recipe, found one on this site using pears. Friend brought me two quarts of canned pears tonight, because they loved the raspberry pie,so much. This is the first review that I have given, but this site has thousands of great recipes and I have not had a bad one yet. Many thanks to Allrecipes.com and all the great cooks for their great recipes...

Broccoli Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
I prepared this last night and it was delicious. the only thing I did different was that I used meat from a leftover deli roasted chicken, I removed skin and cut in pieces. I always follow a recipe exactly the first time. Then, if we feel it needs a little something, then I change according to our tastes. How can you rate a recipe, when you have changed it. It is not the same recipe.
