Well, this is a first.  I've never blogged!  I am going camping next weekend with a group of kayakers and want to make ribs before hand to warm up at the campsite and serve.  I am looking at Barbecued Short Ribs (by Margery Bryan) from this site.  Will this work?  Does… MORE

About this Cook
Live alone. Hard to cook for 1 person. Hope to expand my culinary talents while making fabulous dishes. Love outdoor activities and staying healthy.
My favorite things to cook
Right now it's mainly meats; beef, chicken and hamburger. I always enjoy having freshed baked goods on hand.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Large meals during the Holidays. I always enjoyed helping with the baking.
My cooking triumphs
I bake wonderfully, can't explain it. I've come a long way since joining this site. I've baked things (Tres Leches Cake) that I never would have attempted before.
My cooking tragedies
None to speak of since getting rid of the Easy Bake Oven and getting a real stove. It's so nice to have the ENTIRE burner heat up and when baking, not have the item "sink" after removing it thinking it's done. Oh, and an oven window - how I ever lived without one...

Sesame Snap Peas
This was good, but when I added the garlic and onions and sauted all together I was told it tasted "bitter". I enjoyed it, but my company didn't. Oh well, lesson learned.

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs
Excellent recipe!!! Made this last night for dinner. Used Almond Flour because my friend is gluten intolerant. Definite keeper!

This recipe is out of this world... I wanted to try something different this year and WOW! This was the greatest addition to the holiday table. I don't drink so I used less alcohol than the recipe calls for and it turned out just fine. Next year I'll try it with no alcohol. Just addicting!!!
