Hot Mint Malt

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This was okay with some extras. I used 6 1.4 oz patties and when I tasted it there wasn't much flavor, luckily I was able to raid the kids Christmas candy and found some of the small patties. I added 5 of the York .6 oz snowflakes to it. Then it tasted pretty good. Not sure I'll make it again but it was worth trying. Just add in a couple extra patties. Thanks!

Cinnamon Pumpkin Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Yum! Very good. I did change it just a tad. I used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 AP flour since I was low and I also cut out the wheat germ and added oats that I ran through the food processor, also I used 2 whole eggs. Served with some fried apples that I made.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Yum. These were really easy to make and they taste amazing. I've never been successful at making meatballs before and this recipe worked out great for me. I used my small scoop to portion them out, made it really easy. Thanks for the recipe I will be using this again!

Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
Delicious! We enjoyed this very much. I had a head of cabbage I needed to use and this recipe sounded simple and quick, which I was also looking for. My family enjoyed it as well. I didn't measure the salt just added it slowly and tasted often. Thanks!

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
My son made these for his history class. They were very easy and tasted great. We did use mini muffin pans and skipped dipping them in butter. The cinnamon sugar stuck just fine without it. Thanks for the recipe.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Ha! I made biscuits!!! Ok so I have had problems making biscuits for YEARS! But these came out great for me. They rose beautifully and even had that crack in the middle of the biscuit so that you can just split it with your fingers. Silly but I've been trying to get that darn crack in a biscuit for 2 years. Oh yeah I did use all butter and buttermilk. I'll be using this recipe from now on. Thanks!!

Tomato Florentine Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Yummy! I've been looking for a Tomato Florentine soup close to the one I had at a little bagel shop I used to work for, this one came very close, and my husband loved this! I used small shell pasta and with the condensed soup I was a little weirded out since I don't like it so I tasted the soup and added the condensed a little at a time, ended up using about 1/2 a can of the soup. Next time I'll just leave it out and use a can of tomato sauce. Thanks for the recipe.

Orange-Cinnamon Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Wow this is really good. I had a couple of oranges I needed to use up and wanted chicken so when I found this recipe I was happy :) The cinnamon was a nice addition to the chicken and I was happily surprised that my family really liked this, I wasn't sure they would. When I served it I poured the sauce in the bottom of the pan over the chicken to give it a little extra boost of flavor. Served with brown rice and baked apples. Thanks I'll be making this again!

Spinach Cheddar Potatoes Au Gratin

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Made this recipe for the Recipe Group. We liked this very much. I did change somethings though. When I read the recipe I didn't quite pay attention and just skimmed the ingredients about half way through the prep I realized that it was supposed to be microwaved. Couldn't do it. I made the cheese sauce on the stove I doubled the cheese called for, and wilted the spinach in the bacon grease when I put it in the casserole dish I did a layer of potatoes, poured 1/2 the cheese sauce, put the wilted spinach on then finish layering my potatoes and poured the rest of my cheese sauce on top. Topped with the bacon and extra cheese. I baked it at 350 for 1h 45 minutes. Came out really good. Thanks.

Caramel Butter Pecan Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
Yum! Made this for the Recipe Group. I loved these. So did my hubby and oldest son. My other 2 kids didn't like it and thought they were to sweet. But I'm still giving it 5 stars. I mixed the dough part up in my food processor since I'm lazy that way. The cooling time on these is really just torture. I'm the kind that wants to taste it right away. I didn't pay attention to the type of choco chips used and used semi-sweet. Oops. Still yummy. I used Smuckers caramel. Thanks for the recipe.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
My husband loved this pie. I had extra mashed sweet potatoes after making my sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving and decided I should make a pie. I picked this one because it was simple. I did bake my sweet potatoes and mashed them separately, so I measured out about 2 cups. Then went on with the recipe. I do think next time I will melt the butter not just soften it, didn't get mixed in all the way. Thanks for the recipe!

Ham and Egg Tart

Very good. I used leftover Ham that I had from Thanksgiving and cheddar cheese since I didn't have any swiss. This was very easy and very good. Also added a little bit of bell pepper into the mix. Will make again.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
This was very good. I baked mine for about 30 minutes and it was perfect after it set for about 5 minutes. It really thickened up. I, of course, used leftover Thanksgiving turkey for this recipe. Also I didn't have any spaghetti so I used a garden rotini that I had on hand. It was really good. My only thing is that it needs some more seasoning, some onion, and garlic for starters. I will be making this again, my family really liked this. Thanks for the recipe.

Pasta, Broccoli and Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
Well this recipe has great potential but as is it falls a little flat in flavor. Definitely needs some more pesto than what is called for. At least double it I ended up using about 5 T by the time I was done. I would add extra garlic and maybe some onion next time. It was quick and easy for a quick night meal. Thanks.

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
These are very good pancakes. I loved the fluffy texture of these. My only complaint is that it needs a little extra sugar and some vanilla. I used fresh blueberries since they are so very cheap right now. I had to serve three very hungry boys something filling for breakfast and this was perfect. Thanks!

Milky Way® Cupcake Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
Yum! I used this as a filling for a yellow cake for my son's birthday. He loved it! I did thin it out a little bit, and I cut the sugar down a little, since I was going to be icing the cake with a frosting that I know is super sweet. Very good. I will use this again. Next time on cupcakes. I just really didn't want to wait until I got another chance to bake. This recipe has been calling me since it got published :) Thanks!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
This was really easy to make. My boys loved the stuff. I thought it was a little to salty but I think that was because of the wing sauce I used. Thanks.
