It all started with an essay assignment. In Jan. 2000 I was taking an English course in College and I had been assigned to try something “new”. With an 18 month old and a 2 month old at home plus babysitting for my nieces, college classes, and dealing with some family issues the idea of trying… MORE

About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom with three beautiful kids. I love cooking and I am always looking for something new to cook for my family. My husband was thrilled when I found this website cause I have a tendancy to buy any cookbook I see!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons because I can always have something in the oven. I also love crockpot dinners as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday cooking is the best. I love cooking the dessert my grandmother taught me how to make when I turned 14. Every year at Christmas and Thanksgiving I can hear her telling me what to do and how to do it, I can also feel her smack when I stirred the wrong way! Hehe.
My cooking triumphs
I have always been afraid of frying foods after a couple disastrous attempts at it when I was younger, my fingers always seemed to go into the oil, I have finally started trying frying foods. I am just a lot more cautious. Now I am trying to figure out muffins and pies, and different types of deserts. I think I have finally figured out cheesecake (yay!me).
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at a Boston Cream Pie when I was 16 was the ugliest nastiest cake I've ever seen or tasted. My poor Dad ate it with a smile and lied through his teeth about how wonderful it was!

Diane's Scotch-Irish Potato Salad
This was tasty. I cut the recipe down to 6 since I didn't need so much. I skipped the eggs because I'm not a fan of them in potato salad. This was nice. I've never used green olives in potato salad before. I enjoyed it but my family wasn't thrilled with the green olives. I'll make this again. Thanks!

Best Barbequed Burgers
These were okay. A little to meatloaf-y for my tates. But not bad. The flavor was nice.

Jamie's Sweet and Easy Corn on the Cob
So easy. Never thought of adding lemon juice to the water. Family loved it :)
