Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2013
Very good, but very greasy. This will only be an occasional treat.

Lemon Honey Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
Very good. I sliced three regular size carrots into 1/8th inch rounds and used the recipe set to 1 serving. I also didn't have lemon juice so I used about an 1/8th of a teaspoon of lemon extract. The honey and lemon gave it a pleasant sweet taste and not at all overpowering. Will definately be cooking this again.

Stupid Simple Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
This was my first time cooking a whole chicken and it was fantastic! Instead of putting lemon halves inside I decided to do a bread stuffing (also a first for me). For the stuffing I used some leftover artisan bread that had gotten hard, a diced mushroom, diced an eight of a large onion, and some rosemary and garlic powder. For the outside of the chicken I didn't use kosher salt, instead used rosemary and garlic salt from one of those season grinders (kinda like the sea salt grinders). Again, it turned out fantastic! I'm boiling the leftover bones to make chicken and dumplings or chicken noodle soup.

Best Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
I loved this one! I only cooked two chicken breasts so there was lots of sauce left over. I froze it to use again. It tastes like it would be really good on the grill, or even with ham instead of chicken.

Farfalle Festival

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
Really good. Not very saucy though, which is what I prefer. I think next time I will add a little extra cream, tomato, and alfrdo sauce. I will definitely be making this one again.

Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I made a few changes to fit my tastes and to make it a little healthier. I used ground turkey instead of ground beef (the flavor of the whole thing is strong enough that you can't taste the difference). I shredded a small carrot and diced half a green bell pepper. I diced a small plum tomato but didn't add it until after the meat and sauce were mixed together (so all the freshness wouldn't cook out). I drained all the water and grease from the meat after it was cooked and cooked it to a nice brown (hazard of cooking with ground turkey). I also increased the garlic cloves to 5 and added a few dashes of garlic salt (I really love garlic).

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This recipe is fantastic. I made the regular chocolate chip recipe and then I tried replacing the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips and dried cranberries and it was terrific! My husband said they were better than subway cookies (that's where his white chocolate cranberry request came from).

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
This recipe is very good. I didn't have any bread crumbs and I didn't feel like making any so I crushed some french fried onions and used those. When I ran out of that I used coconut shavings (it was a huge onion). Both ways tasted really good, but the coconut was the best. Also if you decide to half the recipe do not use a whole egg. The proportions will be bad and the batter will not stick as well to the onion. I threw in a little flour to counter that problem and it worked out all right.

Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
Made these for chicken sandwiches. My husband loved them. I also made buns a bit larger than golf ball sized and I diced onions to put on top of some of the buns and just a little bit of shredded cheese to put on top of the rest. Very good recipe

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
I don't usually eat gravy but my husband wanted gravy for the chicken fried steak so I made this. When it was finished it tasted void of flavor. It didn't even taste like flour. Deffinately have to use some kind of meat grease or some kind of flavoring next time.

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
Pretty good. It was just a little bit too sweet so next time I think I'll use a little less brown sugar. I'll also let the marinade cool next time before I put the chicken in it. I think it kind of cooked the chicken when I poured it and prevented some of the marinade from soaking in.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
I used one can of cream of potato and one can of cream of chedder cheese. I also put all of the shredded cheese on top since I put the can of cheese in it. Also topped with some shredded onion and garlic salt. It was ok, but not spectacular. It somehow seemed like too bland and too strong of a flavor all at the same time.

American Lasagna

This was really good. I like my lasagna nice and tall though and a little more noodlely and structured so I put in a smaller pan and did the layer thiner but more of them.
