I've really just started enjoying cooking in the past several years, and have started getting more adventurous with ingredients, revising recipes, etc. I love entertaining and having fun with appetizers.

Barbequed Steelhead Trout
Who knew?! I've never thought to put bbq sauce on fish, but we all (husband, 12 year old son, and I) enjoyed it very much. This was our first time trying steelhead trout, and it is just like salmon but milder. The only changes I made were to add a little minced garlic and liquid smoke (since I didn't have a cedar plank, which is how I usually cook fish). I may have used a tad less cayenne too to ensure my son could handle it. It wasn't spicy at all so I'd add the full amount next time. I will definitely make this again and would probably score the fish and push the butter sauce into it and cook just a minute or two less. Thank you for a new grilled fish experience!

The World's Greatest Crab Recipe
Followed the instructions and incorporated other users' suggestions and cracked the shells a little before grilling, added old bay seasoning, and lowered the heat a little (more like med/med-high). These were awesome! My husband wasn't convinced that the oil/butter/garlic was really going to get through the shell to the meat, but it sure did and it was delicious!

Portobello Mushroom Burger With Bruschetta Topping
I recently quit eating meat, and this really satisfied my burger craving. It was delicious! Even my carnivore husband enjoyed it, although (like another reviewer's husband) he said it would have been even better on top of a beef burger! I only made slight changes, omitting the garlic, adding a little roasted red pepper, and using diced fresh mozzarella in the bruschetta in lieu of either of the other cheeses. The grilling time might be too long as posted, so just watch it depending on your grill. I cooked it less time, and it came out perfect!
