Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2015
I don't want to get into the international fight for the right to claim goulash as theirs... but, this is some mighty fine goulash. I have fun memories eating goulash with my family at the dinner table back in the 60's. But, I never learned how to make. Thanks mom for serving it and... Thank you for sharing Pathunt!

Dominican Style Oatmeal

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2014
Can't believe I am about to leave 5 stars for a bowl of oatmeal... but prepared as stated, 5 stars! Love to add a bit of jam or raisins at the end for an added touch. Can't wait till I get my hands on some maple sugar....

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
Supreme it is! Thank you so much for sharing. I ONLY USED 2 CHICKEN BREAST, BUT THE FULL SCALE SAUCE PART as mentioned by another reviewer. I wanted a lot a sauce and there is only two of us). This is perfect as is and fun to tweak to one's own taste. In lieu of celery seed, I added sliced celery along with a chopped shallot when cooking the chicken in the first phase. I didn't have Worcestershire sauce, so I added 1/4 tsp of sugar along with the 1/8+ tsp of the pepper sauce.. (idea got from internet search). Then I cut the chili powder in half. Not the biggest fan. Half was fine. I also cut the chicken into long strips before cooking. Served over noodles. Chicken was SOOO MOIST! Again, Thank you angelfadedblue!!! (Fairly Simple too!)

Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits

Thanks for the recipe and the video. We love them. I freeze the extra UNCOOKED BISCUITS for a quick eat in the future. Bake them from the frozen state in the preheated oven at 450 for 8 minutes. Don't open the door for another 8 minutes. From freezer to plate = 16 minutes. Plus, I notice no difference in taste or quality to the freshly made.

Made as directed, minus chocolate. I am looking for a good Basic Zucchini Bread recipe. This was bland and too sweet. Would I order the finished bread at a cafe for $... No.

Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
It's a keeper! Purchased some top quality Dutch Cocoa and wanted to experiment with it. As other suggested, I used 3/4 cup Cocoa instead of 1/2 cup. Used 2 1/4 cup Flour instead of 2 2/3 cup. Used 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice instead of 1/2 cup Water. Added zested rind from one orange. Used 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips. Actually got 18 muffins. Thanks for sharing :)

Creamy Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
30 years ago I made a split pea soup to die for. I never found that recipe again. I have tried many times to recreate that soup. Today I stop looking. I found it. I didn't change any portion size, added Smoked Ham Hocks and omitted the ham due to the added bacon garnish. Bless your heart Sherry :) PLUS a reviews tip about the hand blender was WONDERFUL!!

Buttermilk Chocolate Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
Needed to use up the cup of buttermilk extracted from my mornings butter making. This was a good pick. I did use vanilla, choc chips and pecans. Next time I will use coffee crystals for a nice mocha effect. Only problem was my fault. I used 10x5 pan and should have checked after 40-45 min. I didn't until 50 min and the edges were a little crisp, but the inside was still moist and good. Thank you for a keeper.

Rustic Country Bread

Sure it takes awhile... Sometimes patience is rewarded. Crunchy, chewy crust with an extremely soft, moist interior. I used sea salt, I don't know if I needed to add more because of that, but that is my only fault. But next time I will used twice the amount called for in the final dosage. I will have fun experimenting with this. It's a keeper. Many Thanks for sharing.

Salted Toffee-Chocolate Squares

Fast and good. Treat for toffee and chocolate lovers on a graham cracker. And the dash of salt on top, I like it and I am not a salt fan.
