Chef John's Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
Made this for Thanksgiving dinner. Took the advise of some previous reviews and tweaked the recipe a little. I felt that 10 cups of water was too much for a couple of turkey wings and adjusted to 31/2 cups of water and 3 1/2 cups of canned chicken stock. I added a little celery salt to taste and ended up with a recipe that I will be using every Thanksgiving. What I really loved about this recipe is that I made my gravy on Tuesday, put it in a quart jar and put in the refrigerator, all I did on Thanksgiving was heat it up in a saucepan, saved me a lot of time and work during those last minutes of crunch time. Thanks for a great recipe and great technique.

Excellent and easy. My only mistake I should have pounded my chicken out thinner.

A really good cookie with a great peanut taste. For a change I fill half of the recipe with Nutella for a chocolate / peanut butter cookie. Thanks for sharing.

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Have made several times and just never got around to rating. Have made recipe as listed and adjusted to 1/2 orange juice and 1/2 water. My family likes the 1/2 and 1/2 best. I simmer with a cinnamon stick and a little orange zest.

Chess Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I think it was a great recipe; quick, easy, and tasted great. Even my picky son now claims this to be his favorite pie. While some ovens may bake this in 35 minutes, mine took 55 minutes to set up perfectly. Everyone should read the directions and stop complaining about the length of time it takes.....your directions plainly state "35 minutes or until set." Thanks for sharing a great recipe.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
This is excellent. I have made several times for kid's parties and while the kids enjoy it the grown ups love it. I made for a Halloween party and used Halloween cookie cutters to cut out the chips. Anytime there is a party at our house, everyone now expects this dish to be served. I have never had any left overs,

Tased great; was a little runny. May have been my apples. Will try it again but will add more flour to thicken up a bit.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
If possible, I'd give this 10 stars. This is the only recipe I will ever use when roasting a turkey. I made two for church and one for our Christmas dinner. Even the left overs in the frig stayed moist and tasty. It was a picture perfert turkey; evenly browned from top to bottom.

Ground Beef Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
Not one drop was left....great soup. I made this the other day while I was doing last minute preps for Christmas. I did follow the advice of one of the other reviewers and added beef broth (as listed it was more like stew and I wanted soup) - added a 32 ounce container. That was the only change I made and everyone in my house loved it. A definite keeper and will be making again real soon. Thanks for sharing this great recipe.

These were quick and very easy to make. Had a good taste but a little dry. Think another chocolate topping that doesn't set up so hard would be better.

Really good and quick to prepare. Followed ingredients exactly but assembly a little different. Cut chicken up in bite-size pieces and mixed in the stuffing mix then baked in casserole dish. Baked as directed then froze half for a later meal. Will make again.
