Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2004
These are awesome! I use my bread machine and my kids like to help make some of the dough into pretzel sticks. A winner!

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2004
I make these as gifts each Christmas, and often get requests for the recipe. Warning - they are addictive!

Chicken Gumbo Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2004
This recipe was great! I am a soup fanatic and will definitely make this again. I used 6 cups of chicken stock and 2 cups of water and ended up with a spicy, simple to make treat. If you don't like things spicy, you might want to cut down on the hot pepper sauce. Hubby didn't care for the spiciness, so I may try this next time, though I liked it as is. Thanks for this recipe!

Brown-Eyed Susans I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2006
I looked for a recipe to duplicate a cookie from a local bakery and found this one. I roll them in chocolate sprinkles before baking and use almond extract in the frosting instead of vanilla (just my preference). My nephew can't get enough of these. Yum!

Italian Herb Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
I cut this recipe in half and tossed the ingredients in my bread machine, then let the dough rise before oven baking. This bread was a complete hit with my husband. I substituted italian seasoning for the oregano and basil, and parmesan for the romano (out of necessity), but the bread was delicious.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 13, 2006
These were wonderful! I ended up with 12 muffins and they took about 24 minutes to bake completely in my airbake muffin pan. They are absolutely moist and delicious. Bonus: The house smelled so wonderful while they baked. Thanks for a new favorite.

Easy and very simple to make. I added a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter and it was very good.

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
This recipe was absolutely a winner. Everyone who tried it loved it, and it was gone very quickly. This will be made again and again. What a great way to use up all those zucchini from the garden!

Lemon Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
Moist and delicious! I will definitely be making this again. I did have to bake it a good bit longer and turn up the heat a bit, but the end result was wonderful.

Three Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was good, but very, very tart. You might up the sugar a bit (to a cup or more) and let the cranberries pop as another member suggested.

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
These were absolutely great! I followed the recommendations to add vanilla, used half brown and half white sugar, double the cinnamon and double the coating. The almonds were a big hit.

Hot and Spicy Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
These were okay, but the chili powder was a bit much. My niece loved them, though. I gave her the whole batch. I guess I just prefer a different texture to the coating.

Spiced Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
These are very tasty. I didn't find the cloves too overpowering at all. They added a nice spicy element. It's all in what you personally like. I added a tiny bit more cinnamon, but otherwise followed the recipe as written. It's a winner and I will make these again.

Orange Drop Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
I was looking for a good orange cookie recipe and I found a great one! Make sure you use a zester for the orange zest. If you grate it the cookies won't be nearly as good. This recipe makes a lot, so store them in the freezer with waxed paper between layers. They freeze and thaw well. They are a little bit of work, but well worth it in my book. Yum!

Fresh Cherry Crisp

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
This was good, but I found the topping to be a bit thick. I may make this again, but will probably increase the cherries and decrease the topping. It was very tasty with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

This recipe works very well in the bread machine. I use bread flour instead of all-purpose. Very yummy!

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
These are a favorite from my childhood. I remember helping my mother make them (just the chocolate chips, coconut, and chopped walnuts variation). I make a batch for my brother every Christmas. Make sure to allow to cool completely, even refrigerate, before cutting.

Country Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
Awesome muffins! Yes, they are dense, so don't make them if you want fluffy muffins. I increased the pumpkin to 2 cups and decreased the water and oil to 1/4 cup each. I used 1 tsp. of cinnamon. I also filled 12 muffin cups with plain batter, then added raisins and walnuts to the rest. Very yummy! Thanks for a new favorite!

Chocolate Pecan Pie VI

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I made this pie for Thanksgiving dessert in addition to the traditional pumpkin pie. It was delicious With a spoonful of whipped topping. I used pecan halves on top and got rave reviews just on the look of the pie. Warning: this is not a traditional gooey pecan pie. If you want that, don't make this recipe. Otherwise, enjoy!

Orange Cranberry Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
These were an instant favorite. I used juice from the zested orange instead of the liqueur and drizzled white and semisweet chocolate over the finished biscotti. Baking these on parchment paper, especially the first baking, made for a much easier transfer to the cooling rack. Absolutely delicious!
