Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
I mix up a huge batch then separate for different paste food coloring. I also use the food color markers and this holds up well if I let it dry overnight - it may be ready sooner, but I always wait at least 10 hours. It packs and ships well too. The only time I have had difficulty it when I've overdone the water or corn syrup.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
I made this once, as is, but it needed a little tweaking for my family. Sp for Thanksgiving, I took the suggestion of another reviewer and I doubled the crust ingredients, reduced the water to ¼ cup, cut the butter in rather than melt it, tossed the apples in the cinnamon and sugar mixture, added a touch of nutmeg, 3+ teaspoons of cinnamon (even added some to the top crust). I lost count of how many apples I used - small/medium apples, in three varieties because it’s what I had on hand. The entire pan was gone in under 10 minutes! I’ve been told to make at least 3 for Thanksgiving!

Lola's Horchata

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
I loved it, the rest of my family not so much - but I didn't make it for them :) I did double the cinnamon, because I love it so much, and halved the sugar for the second batch, and I loved it even more, but my family still didn't like it, their loss!

Peppermint Drops

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I thought I had good quality peppermint extract, but I guess not. I had to use 2 tablespoons of it. I also didn't refrigerate it for 4 hours. Other than that, I followed it exactly. Used my "cookie gun" as my daughter calls it, Wilton Cookie Press, 6 minutes on 375. Squeezed out dozens of Christmas trees! I haven't counted them because I'm literally in the middle of baking them right now, but I had to stop and tell you its an awesome recipe. Thank you!!

Shortbread Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Far easier and faster than my usual recipe. Family wanted it a bit sweeter, added 3 more tablespoons of sugar with the second batch. They loved them! Thank you!

Birthday Cake

Ddin't work out for me. Texture was like cornbread, taste was blah. Glad I tried a practice run before I served it to people.

Michael's Foccacia Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
I have made breadsticks out of this, used it for pizza crust & panini bread. I used half the salt, and added garlic and oregano to the dough. No salt on it after it was baked either. Everyone loves it.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
Made the cake according to the recipe - perfect! I used a mocha sauce instead, just thrown together off the top of my head and everyone loved it!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
I have been making this every weekend for months! I do use half the sugar and plain white flour and its perfect, which is a HUGE accomplishment for me! I've only made bread successfully in bread machines - and that sometimes failed miserably. We may never have store bought bread again!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This is the cake everyone asks for for their birthday. Friends, family, their friends, their families! I can make this cake while helping with homework and making dinner at the same time because its easy doesn't leave me a huge mess to clean up. I have used chocolate milk, instead of regular. And I always throw in 2 grated squares of semi-sweet baking chocolate to any chocolate cake I make. Have to make sure the migraine I'll get from eating this is totally worth it :)

Waikiki Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
My family loves this with chicken (cubed or whole boneless skinless breasts), ground turkey, TVP, and my hubby likes it with ground beef :) To the sauce I add red pepper, green onions, garlic powder, ginger, use 1/4 cup lemon juice instead of vinegar, 1/4 cup br. sugar & 2 tbsp honey. And it was awesome just as it was written as well!

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
I have been using this as a base for all kinds of muffins and it always turns out great. We've added all kinds of fruit, fresh and dried, garlic and herbs for pasta night, even M&Ms - blueberry banana is our favorite. I follow the recipe exactly, still need a little more flour, and I only get 9 muffins, but they're the size we like and always tasty.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
The very first fudge I have ever made that not only turned out resembling fudge but it was edible too! I thought it might not turn out, especially since I used soft-spread margerine and no salt/no sugar peanut butter AND was making dinner at the same time - but its perfect!
