Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Great recipe! I used 1-1/4 lb extra lean ground turkey breast and kept the same seasonings, except reduced the salt in half. It tasted fantastic! I have used it as breakfast sausage in the morning as well as in a lasagne recipe that my husband loved. UPDATE: I have made this several times now and love the taste and how easy it is to fix. I have used it in breakfast casseroles and in any recipe that uses sausage. It works great.

This were excellent pancakes. I usually only make pancakes on a special occasion and this recipe definitely made the pancakes special. I will be making these again.

Traditional Mexican Guacamole

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
YUM! I love fresh guacamole and this recipe is right on. I didn't change a thing. I used two roma tomatoes to get roughly 1 cup chopped tomatoes and about 1/4 of a sweet vidalia onion to get 1/4 cup chopped onion. I used one chopped, seeded jalapeño which gave it a mild spiciness in my opinion. Next time I might add one more jalapeño as I like a medium spice level. Thanks Kaersten for a great recipe.

Chicken Fajita Melts

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
YUM! So delicious and easy. My husband declared it was one of the best open faced sandwiches he has had. I did not have tomato juice so I used salsa instead. This is a definite keeper. Thanks for a great recipe.

Light and Easy Greek Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
This was very light and easy and great to take to a picnic or potluck since it has no mayonnaise. I scaled it down to 3 servings and made it as written and it was great. Thank you are sharing your recipe.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
Yum! Excellent salad. It tasted great with lighter ingredients including whole wheat pasta, light mayonnaise, light ranch dressing (used instead of dry mix) and center cut bacon. Instead of black olives I added chopped green onions. I did add a generous amount of black pepper and a couple of sprinkles of cayenne and it was just enough to give it that extra spice to make it just right for us. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
When I came home after work my hubby declared this roast was "da bomb!" I made this on a day when I didn't have time to cook or plan. So I needed something super simple to quickly throw in the crockpot. Like others, I was skeptical about all the packaged seasonings. Usually I try to make my own instead of using the prepackaged stuff but I simply did not have time nor motivation to do so on this day. I did not add salt since the packaged seasoning would have plenty. Also, I used a reduced sodium gravy mix and added probably 3/4th cup water but next time will probably stick to 1/2 cup because it made way more gravy than we needed. However, this was delicious and I am so glad I found this recipe.

Southwestern Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
Yum! I just had this for lunch and it was excellent. I followed the recipe except left out the butter to reduce fat and left out the corn because I was out of it and didn't want to run to the store. I have saved this recipe and will be making it again. Thank you Texas7127 for sharing your wonderful recipe.

Pan Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
This is a great classic recipe. It is a great base from which you can personalize it to your taste. I have to admit, I didn't measure when I added the seasoning. I sprinkled the chicken with seasoned salt (no additional salt because it is not needed), black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little cayenne before browning. Then I used cornstarch instead of flour to thicken the sauce and I had no problem with lumps. I used dried italian seasoning for the italian herbs. If I make it again, I think it would be great to use fresh herbs.

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
My hubby loved this. I used about 1/2 the amount of spaghetti and used a spicy pasta sauce. I added 1/2 a sweet onion, diced up, (instead of green onion) and sautéed for about 5 minutes in the pan after I browned the ground beef. Then I added a heaping teaspoon of minced garlic instead of the garlic powder. I also poured a little red wine in with the pasta sauce. I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and I used all parmesan cheese and left out the cheddar. Instead of layering it, I mixed everything together and it was delicious. We will be making this again.

Spicy Jalapeno Whole Wheat Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
This recipe was delicious and I will make it again. Since we don't have Al Fresco in our area, I had to substitute another chicken sausage but otherwise followed the recipe for the most part. I did not have asparagus but used a dry shredded broccoli slaw that I had. I also used whole penne instead of whole wheat shell pasta. I would have used Al Fresco if it was sold in our area.

Champagne Island Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
The sauce of this chicken is awesome! I used some of the ingredients from Trader Joe's that were recommended by other AllRecipes Allstars. The Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar adds a delicious unique flavor. This chicken dish would be an excellent option to serve to guests. If you don't have a Trader Joe's near you, then I recommend moving as soon as you can to be near one! Just kidding...sorta. Maybe if you are real nice, a kind friend can ship you some of the items.

Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
This was delicious. I loved the bacon, egg, and cheese combination. Since another reviewer said it was dry I added a little (maybe a teaspoon) of salsa to each one and some chopped green onion. My only problem was I that I can't seem to roll a crescent, so they were a little lopsided, but they tasted great!

Easy Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
This recipe was easy and delicious. Like other reviewers I used about 3 tablespoons of Taco Seasoning I from this site (minus the salt) instead of the chili powder and cumin to give it a little more flavor and heat. I also used a light sour cream instead of mayonnaise and pepper jack cheese for the monterey Jack Cheese. I forgot to cover it in foil and the cheese on top got a little overdone. Next time i will cover it in foil until the last 10 minutes or so. I served it with cornbread and it was delicious.

Greek-Cajun-Tex Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
This cajun / texas interpretation of greek shrimp tastes awesome. The sauce has lots of flavor and is great on crusty bread. It is also very quick and easy to make. You can have dinner on the table in about 20 minutes. It was so good we had it for dinner a few days later on a weeknight. I served the shrimp over pasta and my husband made shrimp tacos with it. It is now one of our favorite dinners.
