Churros

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
These taste great!! and so simple to make. Only change I made was to add 1 tsp of vanilla. I made 3 batches last night...my son and nephew kept eating them up. The largest star tip I have was still making them pencil thin, so I just rolled mine into long strips and shaped into doughnuts, worked out great! Thanks for sharing...now my family can enjoy anytime!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
This recipe is fantastic and so easy to make! Makes me wonder why anyone would ever buy ready made frosting again! I know I won't evera again. Made this to go along with Sam's Famous Carrot Cake from this site and talk about heavenly. I already have requests for a second cake, the first one didn't make it through the night! Thanks Janni for sharing this yummy recipe!!

Sweet Vanilla Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Marianne...These are divine! I changed them up a bit by reducing the vanilla to 1/2 tsp and adding in some orange oil and orange zest and then topped them with a stabilized whipped cream frosting also infused with the orange oil and orange zest. My sister took to work for a b-day and I now have 2 more orders to make these again. Thanks again for sharing and your tips!

I made these this weekend for our Labor Day BBQ and got rave reviews! I did as suggested by My Sweet Creations and added a few drops of Lori Ann's coconut flavor oil and it really enhanced the flavor of my cupcakes. Topped with toasted coconut these were so yummy! Stabilized Whipped Cream Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
This worked out beautifully for me. I really love that you can use this icing to frost/decorate with. Used it on my key lime pie and it looked great! I did as one reviewer suggested and first slowly poured the gelatin into cool water, gave it a stir and let it soften for about 5 minutes, then I popped it in the microwave for 10 seconds on 50% power and by the time I had my cream all whipped, the gelatin was cool enough to add to whipped cream mixture. I would not recommend using more than 1 tsp for this as it sets up really nicely with 1 and any more would make it too stiff, IMO. Thanks for sharing...this will be my go to recipe from now on. :)

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
I made this for my sister who fancies herself a Tiramisu expert and she loved, loved, loved it!! I took alot of reviews into account and scaled this recipe down to 10 servings so that I would only need the one tub of marscapone cheese, which my Italian friend told me to NEVER sub in this recipe. Luckily I have an Italian deli close by and found both the marscapone and lady fingers at very reasonable prices. A 7oz pkg of lady fingers for $2.60, it had 24 lady fingers. I made this in an 8x8 square glass dish and I did use a mixture of strong coffee and kahlua to very quickly dip the lady fingers into. I was able to create 3 layers all together and let it set in the fridge for 2 days, as some had suggested. On the second day it was good, but boy was it better on the 3rd day and Fabulous by the 4th day! So if you want it for a Friday night, make it and put in the fridge on Monday night and you will not be disappointed!! Thanks for sharing!!

Frosted Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I stumbled upon this recipe while looking for a frosting recipe. And since I was making orange frosting, I thought why not give these a try too. These are so yummy! A great change from a traditional sugar cookie, they taste so fresh and are great with tea. which is how I am having right now. As per other reviews, I did add in an egg and about 1/2 cup more flour and they are perfect. Dough will be a bit wet, but I used a cookie scoop and they did not spread too much, in fact mine looked just like the picture! Try these you will enjoy. A delicious cookie! Thanks for sharing!

Coconut Custard Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
Really liked this pie! Very easy and yummy results. I did 1 1/2 cups of milk and 1 cup of half & half, both cinnamon and nutmeg. Very creamy texture and set beautifully. Homemade pie crust just made it that much better. I did bake it for 40 - 45 minutes to make sure it set. Will definately make again. Thanks for sharing!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
These are fantastic pancakes!! Made them this weekend for my son and Mom and they both loved them. I followed recipe as written, but did need to add a tiny bit more milk as batter was too thick and 1 tsp vanilla. Served with fresh strawberries and maple syrup, comfort food at its best! Thanks for the recipe, no more box mix for us!!

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
Based on the dressing alone, I think this is a 5 star recipe. I have been looking far and wide for this type of dressing. And the fact that I know exactly what is in it makes it that much better. I do think that the use of the Sesame Oil is a must and I used light olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Thanks for sharing!

School Lunchroom Cafeteria Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Yep these are the ones!! Although I do agree with othere reviews that this recipe could use a tad more salt. I feel that is a personal preference and does not take away from the ease of making these delicious rolls. I was looking for a recipe for dinner rolls for Thanksgiving and I think I have found it! Makes plenty and they turn out beautiful. Scaled recipe down to 15 servings and they turned out great! Thanks for sharing and bringing back so many great memories!

Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
I have made these enchiladas a couple of times now and I must say that I really love them as does my family. I just had to tweak them a bit to suit our taste. I only use 1 can of the jalapeno sauce, otherwise it would be too spicy for my family and I use corn tortillas instead of flour. After reading a few reviews that the sour cream mixture did not look too appetizing poured over the enchiladas, I decided to marinate the chicken in this mixture instead of pouring it on top and the result was great. The chicken gets a great flavor from this mixture and stays very moist, then I just pour the rest of the green sauce on top of the enchiladas and they taste great and look beautiful! I serve these with spanish rice and top them with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and one last dollop of sour cream and we are in heaven!! Thanks for the recipe!!

Orange Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This is definately a great recipe!! I was looking for a definate orange flavor cake and I have made the recipe as posted and I feel that is more of a "citrus" flavor with the combination of the lemon and orange. I have also made it as some reviewers have suggested and changed the yellow cake mix for french vanilla, the pudding to vanilla and used orange zest and orange extract and the result was so fresh and wonderfully delish! Thanks for posting this great recipe.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
First off I have to say that I have never had much success in the bread making department, I can bake anything else except bread. I definately lacked in my kneading skills. I just got a new bread machine as a gift and decided to try this recipe to give it a whirl, the result was amazing!! The most beautiful, moist and delicious rolls we have ever had. I made mine in the old cloverleaf shape and I will definately be making these again, in fact my son says no more store bought rolls for us! I tend to agree. Thanks for the recipe, perfect as written!!
