About this Cook
I grew up in a cooking family, my Mother and Grandmother were both awesome cooks. My Grandma always told me that you have to always cook with love in your heart, otherwise nothing you make will taste good. I always try and remember that. I like to cook, but baking and desserts are my passion. I love to try new receipes and this site is perfect for that.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make dinner during the holidays. I prepare and cook Thanksgiving through New Years dinner every year for my entire family. I also love to bake cookies, cakes and pies. I love the way my house smells when I bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking for my family during the holidays. All from scratch including desserts!
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make pasta sauce from scratch from a very dear friend of mine and finally mastering making flan.
My cooking tragedies
Flan - I cannot tell you how many receipes and eggs I went through until I found the perfect recipe that worked for me, and I found it on this site!!

Chicken Stew with Dumplings
I really liked this recipe. Very flavorful and I loved the dumplings. I have made it just as written and also using a rotisserie chicken and stock for a short cut and both are very tasty. Definately a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Enchilada Soup III
First off I want to say that I give this recipe 4 stars if made as written. I feel for my taste it needs a bit more spice than what the recipe calls for. I do want to add that this is a great recipe that you can tweak to your own tastes and end up with a fabulous soup. I made as written the first time and while we liked it I felt it could be better, so I took the left over soup and added to it as some reviewers suggested 1 can of rotel tomatoes, 1 can of mexicorn and added 1 additional tsp. of chili powder and 1/2 additional tsp of cumen. I also feel that 1 full cup of Masa Harina is too much, I will use 1/2 cup next time. Give this one a try you will not be disappointed! My Son said it tasted like Chili's only better with the additions. Thanks for sharing.

Asian Chicken Salad
Based on the dressing alone, I think this is a 5 star recipe. I have been looking far and wide for this type of dressing. And the fact that I know exactly what is in it makes it that much better. I do think that the use of the Sesame Oil is a must and I used light olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Thanks for sharing!
