About this Cook
I work for an internet company and am a mother of two twenty years old's. I have always loved to cook, finding it hard to follow a recipe as written. There is always something else I will add and some ingredients I won't measure. I have been cooking for my mother recently. Sort of her personal "meals on wheels," so I have been looking at a lot of recipes trying on new things for her. My favorite foods are clams and blueberries.
My favorite things to cook
I love making soups when the season is right. I like to freeze personal sized soups to grab for my lunch at work. I guess I just love making big pots of anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Clam dip!!!!! (I wish I was a good clam shucker.) Easter time and I miss making sausage with my Dad.
My cooking triumphs
I am a really good pie maker. I used to make homemade pies for a restaurant. I was free to make whatever I wanted. I also was a cook in a deli once. There I could also make any dish I wanted. I would prepare the hot food lunch each weekday and had a "following" of people who would be looking for certain things and make requests. That was a fun job!
My cooking tragedies
A couple of coffee cakes which grew to enormous sizes and caused me to use a whole box of baking soda putting out the fire??

Brownie cookies
Good chocolate cookie. Follow the directions and refrigerate over night. Nothing messy about them and the result is a perfectly round chocolate cookie. I baked them for 12 minutes and they were not "chewy" so if thats what you're trying for, I suggest you check them at less.

Chocolate Yule Log
I made this recipe as written and it was wonderful. I do think next time I would make a frosting that not as sweet but that is purely my taste, not a fault of this terrific recipe.

Blueberry Buckle
I doubled the recipe and used a 9x13 inch pan. Fantastic! I have to say it was even better the next day; even more moist end delish. I will make this again and again.
