Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
Loved this! I made the recipe exactly as stated and I put some fresh cracked pepper on top when it came out of the oven. The lemon is a must, and the flavor of it is very subtle, but it is what makes this recipe different.

Very Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
Awesome creamy ice cream. This turned out prefect despite me using only two eggs because I didn't have three and not tempering the eggs, the step the directions called for. I used a small handful of Ghiradelli milk chocolate chips and 1 ounce of 99% cacao. I just had to improvise a bit with that I had on hand this time. I will make this again and again! Thanks!

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
This is more of a cake-like cookie and soft chocolate chip cookie, which I love. I made this recipe according to the directions the first time, but found at 350, the temp. is too warm for this soft cookie dough and it browns the cookie too much. I customized the recipe by adding 1/4 tsp. of salt and milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. Adjust the baking temp. to 335 and bake for 17 minutes. The recipe itself is awesome, you just need to adjust the baking temp/time.

Movie Star Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
I agree with the recipe submitter about the artificial ingredients in microwave popcorn, not to mention the use of radiation oven to cook it. I prefer to good ole' stovetop way. I use plain white seeds and olive oil. I sprinkle a bit of salt and some fresh cracked pepper. I even make this to take to the movie theatre with me. It makes a light snack for anytime.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
This is a great buttercream recipe. I always use the same one, but I decided to try a few others. This one is different because you use unsalted butter which results in a lighter, slightly less sweet flavor. I liked whipping this icing for an extra few minutes as well as the butter in the beginning, it is a keeper!

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
I think this recipe is fantastic! Just enough sweetness and tart. I would recommend doubling the buttercream frosting. I was conservative with the middle layer and I still didn't have enough to ice the rest of the cake.

Croutons

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
Great base recipe. I used some soursough loaf bread from Costco and I used olive oil and salt and fresh cracked pepper. I prefer mine with a subtle flavor. I will use these on my salad and in some roasted tomato soup like they do at Tender Greens. Excellent, thanks!

The season salt is a freat addition. I only make our popcorn on the stove and it is a rare treat. I used butter instead of margarine.

Fun Cookie Suckers

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
LOVED this recipe. I had no problems, I actually decided to make these last minute and I only refrigerated them for 20-30 minutes and they were easy to work with, not too sticky and it was fun rolling them out into ropes. I used powdered sugar to lightly dust my counter instead of flour.

Jan's S'mores Campfire Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
I saw Dianne's photo of these cookies today and knew I had to make them right away. I cut the recipe in half because I am basically the only one eating sweets in my home. I decided to bake these in my full size cupcake pans. I used my large cookie scoop which equals about 2-3 tablespoons to measure the dough. I sprayed my cupcake pan first and then dropped the dough into the cups. After baking 10 minutes, I removed the pan from the oven and used my measuring tablespoon to press into the top of the hot cookie to form a cup which will hold the milk chocolate chips and marshmallows. I dropped 3 mini marshmallows and milk chocolate chips into each formed cup and baked for another 5-7 minutes. I was really surprised how wonderful these were. I was initially concerned about baking them at 375, because they seems to be doughy in the center and golden on the sides, but I went with it and they turned out PERFECT! This is a recipe I will making over and over again and I look forward to making these to take to a party or playdate in the near future. It is very impressive. I also stored these in the fridge by the end of the day and I loved eating them cold from the fridge. Thanks!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Wow, what a perfect recipe! I love mexican/spanish rice and living in Southern California I am spoiled by eating good rice. I attempted to make this once or twice before and it always came out tasting horrible. I decided to try one more time and the pictures submitted made it this recipe look so delicious and it is! My husband used my onion up yesterday, so I had to settle for onion and garlic powder, otherwise I followed the recipe completely.

Tiger Butter II

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
I love Tiger Butter, I used to purchase this at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I do not use chunky peanut butter because the tiger butter I always bought was always smooth in taste and texture. The taste if this can vary depending on the quality of chocolate you use. I tempered my chocolate so I would not have to refrigerate.

Great recipe, no complaints. I added more garlic powder, oregano, and pepper to the recipe and I only had Muenster cheese, so that is what I used, excellent!
