Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2015
The was my first time making and eating stuffed peppers! I grew up a vegetarian in a meat eating family and my mom always made stuffed peppers but they were filled with meat. They always smelled great but I was never able to eat them. I followed this recipe as written with one small change. Instead of adding Italian Seasoning I subbed it for a few tablespoons of tomato basil pasta sauce. I will be making this recipe over and over again!

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
How can you mess up chocolate covered pretzels? My two recommendations would be 1) you don't really need the heavy cream. 2) try milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet, it tastes so much better. DO NOT use the cream, both times I tried this the chocolate seized and I used expensive chocolate those times. Chocolate chips or Bakers chocolate is all you need.

Pumpkin Chip Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
These are fantastic pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes. I always use full size milk chocolate chips and skip the nuts, unless I am adding one to the top of the icing. I highly recommend this great recipe. I store mine in the fridge and eat them cold.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
I scaled this recipe down to just a few servings. You won't need milk, the butter is sufficient, I think that is what makes it taste restaurant style. I sauteed fresh garlic in butter and I just added the flavored butter to the potatos and I left these more lumpy rather than smooth, a highly recommended recipe, very flavorful!

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
I really like these, what a terrific combination! I added coconut cream to my cookies after reading that the coconut taste is mild. I may add more coconut cream or coconut extract next time, I highly recommend this recipe.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
I really liked this recipe. It is light tasting and I used organic seasoned multigrain croutons that I smashed up for the topping and the croutons have a great taste that really made this for me. I followed the recipe exactly except I uzed mini ziti noodles instead of macaroni because I was out. They are basically the same size without the bend. Sprinkle some fresh cracked pepper on top and it is ready to go!

A Peanutty S'more

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
This is much better than using a plain chocolate bar. I will recommend using full size Reese's cup to everyone from now on, they were delicious and made this taste extra special.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
I highly recommend using milk chocolate and not semi-sweet. I honestly cannot rave enough about this fantastic recipe! It is way better than a Reese's. I will make a full batch to take to parties or events and I make half batches for myself to enjoy throughout the week and pour it into a glass pie pan. I usually add more chocolate to the top, mmmmmmmm......

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
Great buttercream recipe, I only needed 1/4 of what this recipe called for so I adjusted accordingly. I scooped the finished product into a candymaking melting bottle and melted the icing a bit and then decorated a giant chocolate chip cookie with it. Worked perfectly.

Slow Cooker Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2015
I added some extra garlic and Himalayan pink sea salt to boost the flavor but overall we loved this recipe. We tend to enjoy soups with a vegetable broth base and would make this again. I decided to leave the vegetables chunky instead of pureeing them. We served this with crusty french bread for dinner.

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2014
Simple + healthy + flavorful! This is something we enjoy eating with a fork and it's versatile enough that I can put some on a warm tortilla. I added green onions but otherwise make this recipe as written.

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2014
Very impressive recipe, I'm speechless! I followed the recipe as written with the exception of straining the spices through a cheesecloth since I didn't have one on hand and the coffee filter method failed. I brewed some espresso in my machine and made an iced pumpkin spice latte with the same measurements as the popular coffee houses and it turned out perfecto! One word of caution is this recipe makes a large amount, you may want to consider cutting the recipe in half or more.

Cinnamon Dolce Latte Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
Use this to make a homemade cinnamon dolce latte or your own homemade caramel apple spice drink by adding 2-3 tablespoons to a cup of apple juice or apple cider. You can top the drink with whipped cream and caramel. It tastes like the Charms caramel apple suckers. The caramel apple spice is a fall favorite for both kids and adults.

I made this as written with the exception of the egg. This is easy to put together and would be great for dinner any night of the week or when we entertain. It seems like more work than it really is!

Orange Glorious II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2013
I have my own version of this I have been making for several years using vanilla yogurt and almond milk as a base. I wanted to try some of the other recipes and found this recipe to be great too - just not quite as "healthy" as mine. I would never buy another similar smoothie from a mall when it is so easy to make at home. For those looking at this recipe, yes it is very sweet and very orangey, but delicious!
