During my last trip to the commissary, I found a box of Fudge Mint Oreos. Each year during the holiday season, they come out with these delicious treats! I already had a bag of Hershey's mint chocolate chips in my buggy that I wasn't sure what I was going to do with, and I was about to put a box of the Fudge Mint Oreos in when I had an idea! I put the box back on the shelf and opted for a bag of regular Oreos instead. I knew that I could make my own using the mint chocolate chips.

A few days later, I got out my bag of Hershey's mint chocolate chips and Oreos. I tempered the chocolate (you can search the internet or AllRecipes for instructions on how to temper chocolate) and began dipping the Oreos. I let them set up on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. If you temper your chocolate, it only takes a couple of minutes for the chocolate to be dry to touch.

As an option, you can melt dark chocolate or white chocolate and drizzle it across the top for decoration.

One bag of Hershey's mint chocolate chips made about 12 chocolate mint covered Oreos. I plan on making these and sending them as gifts to my family. Wrap them up in a white candy box with a beautiful ribbon, and seal with a sticker. Your family and friends will love the presentation and the taste!

I was just scanning past your post yesterday and saw those mouth-watering oreos. I've been craving them ever since. I don't dare make them because I will eat every one, and I'm diabetic so I can't. But they look sooo good. Maybe I'll make some for a potluck. The luck part will be making it to the dinner.

Thanks Daisey! They really taste exactly like the pre-made boxed Chocolate Mint Oreos. I am going to the commissary tonight and I will be sure to pick up more Oreos and Hershey's Chocolate Mint Chips. Good luck with your potluck, they are super easy to make!

I was wondering if you have seen the Limited Edition Candy Cane Oreos? I bought them the other day at Wal-Mart and thought of your post. BTW, I love looking at your creations!

P.S. I do something simalar with ritz crackers dipped in the Wilton Mint Chocolate Candy Melts and they taste just like girl scout thin mints! You can decorate them according to each holiday too! For Christmas I used the green candy melts to pipe a scribbly Christmas tree. For V-day I will do pink and red hearts!
