Fabulous Fargozas

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out really yummy. I had ground rosemary so that's what I used instead of regular kind. I didn't find them too garlicky either. I did make sure the garlic was finely crushed and minced.

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
This was such an easy recipe to follow and turned out pretty well. It was quick to make as well. I used smoked sausage with no casing (my kids and I don't care for the casing) and used a half olive oil and a half butter as well as almond milk in stead of regular milk because that's what I had. I was afraid that the flavor was going to be off because of the almond milk but it tasted pretty good, thanks to the smoked sausage. We all liked it. I did not serve it with cheddar cheese or parsley but it tasted good anyway.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
Just made these this morning for breakfast! Very fluffy and yummy with just right amount of flavors. I also reduced the baking powder to 1 tablespoon (3 teaspoons) and it was just right. Will make them again.

Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
After reading some reviews, I had decided to 1.5 times the filling and keep the crust the way it is. These were amazingly delicious. I have tried different lemon bar recipes but always found them to be too strong of egg flavors or something else, not lemony enough for me. These are perfect. I will be making this over and over again. Now, only if I can stop myself from eating more than one bar at a time...

Korean Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
I used this on beef flank steak (sliced it up first) and sliced yellow onions tonight. I used 1 lbs. sliced flank steak and 1 medium size yellow onion. I thought the flavor was good but definitely too salty for my taste. I used Kikkoman organic soy sauce (imported from Japan) and served these over rice. Next time, I will use 3 onions (they shrunk quite a bit) and maybe even add sweet peppers or something, though they are not authentic Korean dish just to knock down the salty taste.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Fabulous recipe but used more mozzarella cheese (I used fresh and good 2 lbs. of it) and more Parm. than the recipe called for. I didn't adjust the amount of salt in the recipe and usually, I don't like salty food but this was okay the day I made it, today, it was a bit too salty so next time, I won't add any salt to the sauce. I also used up all the sauce and used 3 extra sheets of lasagna. Thanks for the recipe.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
Very good, I followed the recipe exactly except for substituting the ground beef for the ground chicken breast. It turned out really well and we all loved it, even the kids. Based on my experience with Asian cooking/food, I think it would be best to add sesame oil at the end when you turn the heat off or you lose the fragrance/flavor of the sesame oil. And you only need 1 teaspoon and that would cut the calorie down as well.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
Authentic or not, very good and spicy chili. For kids and myself, I used sour cream to tone down and it was really good. My husband loved it spicy the way it was. I will definitely make it again.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I made these tonight following the recipe exactly. My husband and kids loved them but it was difficult to get the breading to stick to the chicken. I like to try the original recipe first before I change anything but next time, I will coat chicken in flour and use eggs to stick the breading on the chicken and bake them in the oven.

Delicious Whole Wheat Fruitcake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
These were just very delicious. I followed the recipe exactly and chose pecan for my nuts. For those people who don't like the taste of whole wheat, I must tell you that you cannot taste it at all. I will definitely make them again.

'Day Before Payday' Kielbasa and Corn Hash

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
I couldn't find the stif fry mix anywhere so I ended up using one fresh red pepper and 1 medium size yellow onion. These turned out really well and yummy. I did end up with a lot of left overs (I think it will serve 8 people depending on the portion size) so we will have some for lunch tomorrow as well. Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
I tripled this recipe and made a lot of loaves to share with my friends and family. Everyone loved them. I did use the frosting on top but I think I will skip next time as they are plenty sweet without it. They loved the festive colors as well.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
This was very good, I shared it with my friends and family and everyone raved about it. They also thought it looked very professional (and I didn't do anything special, just followed directions). I am definitely making this again in the near future.

It tasted too artificial and way too sweet for our taste. It was super easy to make, though. I won't make this again.

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
Very good recipe. I actually cooked this in my slow cooker all day. I had a 4 lb. chuck roast which I salted and peppered, seared all sides in my pan and didn't bother to put flour on it at all. I then put the meat in my crock pot and put the rest of the ingredients and cooked all day. After 6 hours, I shredded the beef and put it back in the crock pot to absorb all the flavors. When we had dinner around 7 PM, it was very juicy, moist and flavorful. A keeper recipe.

Creamy Chicken on Linguine

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
I saw this recipe on the website and had to make it for dinner. It was very delicious. My kids loved it (and they are picky eaters) and we the parents also liked it. I used half & half instead of heavy cream and milk but didn't miss out on the flavor. I had also run out of Parmesan-Reggiano so I used my cheap Kraft Parmesan cheese but it tasted fine (more economical, I guess.) Definitely will make it again. Thanks!

Fiery Fish Tacos with Crunchy Corn Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This is a great recipe. We enjoyed it quite a bit. I do agree with other reviewers about the recipe for the sprinkle being too much. I used all of it and we couldn't believe how strong it was. We had to take some fish out to make it okay for us to eat. Next time, I would only use 1/4 to 1/3 of the recipe. The salsa was excellent, I couldn't believe how good it was since it only has lime and cilantro leaves to taste it with. I found jicama in my not so ethnic grocery store in a section where they sell fresh hot peppers instead of other produce section. I also used multi grain flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas. Yummy, definitely will be a repeat.
