Ukrainian Dill and Garlic Pickles

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
I made several jars of these pickles this summer while I was canning pickles with our traditional Recipe. I threw our old one out. These are the best tasting home-canned pickles I have ever eaten. Used dill paste instead of the Sprigs and added chopped Garlic for the cloves--They turned out wonderful! the best mix of vinegar, salt and water I have found yet! Thank You for sharing, will be adding to my summertime canning routine.

This is the best recipe for pickled okra I have ever tried, they turned out perfectly. My mother ate the first jar we opened almost completely by herself! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe.

Mexican Cream Cheese Rollups

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
I also changed the recipe. Left out the green Olives, added Sour Cream instead of Mayo. added finely shredded cheddar and finely chopped green Onions before rolling them up. Have also made this dish and substituted Sliced Boiled Ham for the Tortilla; were a great hit at several parties.

Only giving this 3 stars due to the recipe as is; add the bacon, mushrooms, garlic and mixed cheese and you have a GREAT 5 star casserole!!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
This is almost exactly how my grandmother made it, with almost the same comments about the eggs, and powdered anything. She always used lard, so I use Crisco but that seems the only difference. Well, I think she used more yeast, but she called for cake yeast and it may need more for the umph factor. Thanks for a slightly different version, I will have to try it.

Pop's Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
Way to much vinegar for me, next batch I used 2 cups vinegar to four cups water and scaled the Sugar back to 1/4 cup--they turned out much better this way.

Grandma Oma's Pickled Okra

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2013
As it is written, it is fine. I added chopped Garlic and used Dill Paste instead of the dried Dill, some black peppercorns as well. Great Recipe! Thanks for sharing.

Grandma's Moist Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2013
I try to follow a new recipe by the directions to at least see how it turns out. I did add a pinch of salt to the recipe, as I was taught by my grandmother to do this since I was a Child. This cake is extremely moist and easy to frost and decorate-it is a keeper in my recipe box now!

This is a simple and easy to prepare recipe and the sauce is fantastic. I have now used it on Beef as well for a Sunday Roast.
