Classic Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
Oh my gosh. This is amazing...we made a double batch and it is almost gone. It was so easy and the end result is ADDICTING. Will absolutely make this again- tasted just like Cracker Jack without the nuts!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
FANTASTIC! Make sure you bake it in the water bath- it made all the difference and this was the first cheese cake I ever made that did not fall. Thanks, Chantal!!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Absolutely wonderful. I made this last night and my family loved it. I did not change the recipe except I had some shredded asagio cheese and added it along with the parmesan in the parmesan step. Very very good! John, I just want to say I made this again and I simply cannot get over the taste of the sauce. I was very worried it would taste off because I only had one can of tomato sauce (should have gotten more at the store!) but I needn't worried. Your mix of spices with the meat and everything else made it phenomenal. We kept eating the sauce out of the pot!!! This is the best lasagna ever... don't change anything.. follow his steps exactly and his timing/ oven temp is perfect. Thanks again, John!!!

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
My review is for the dressing.. it is AMAZING! White sugar, brown sugar.. go with your taste, but whichever you prefer.. it is SOOO good. I took your advice and tripled the batch, using one to marinate my chicken and the other two to keep on hand as a dressing. My family ate EVERY bite and were looking for more. To those who had something critical to say... cannot figure out why. This was so good and not at all too oily! Do not change her recipe.. its delicious!!

Incredible Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
Can't believe it took me this long to write this. I made this just as Jharmon wrote- used my grater to shred the potatoes once they were cool enough to handle- cinch! This came out so so so good.. my daughter (who is a bacon fanatic) just raved and raved. It made alot, so we warmed it up the next night- still fantastic. Thank you so much!!

Dark Chocolate Cherry Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
This was so unbelievably good! I did not change the recipe at all and we found it perfect. Not too sweet and the cherry chips were a real nice surprise. The marshmallows melted beautifully if you follow the stir time listed exactly. Use a heavy spoon when you get to the final stage- it comes together quickly!! Very, very good.

Orange and chocolate together.. what a combination!! These were utterly delicious. I Loved them, my family loved them. We love the orange flavor so I did not measure the zest.. I just zested a whole orange in there. They smell heavenly. New favorite!!

Kale Caesar with Cucumbers and Leeks

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
This was out of this world, mostly due to the dressing. My family gobbled it up and looked for more. Do not let the anchovy paste throw you. The little bit this calls for is more then enough and really packs a flavor punch. A definite keeper.. the kale cooked up beautifully. Some salt and pepper while its cooking would add some additional flavor. Thanks for sharing!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
I made this last night and it was incredible. I cooked mine in a cast iron frying pan and the double layers of goodies just oozed everywhere. I had never put the sauce directly on top- it was a hit. Thank you so much, Jaime5025!!!

Chicken and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This was out of this world. My teenage son ate 3 bowls on the first night! I used canned corn all around (didn't have frozen) and since I didn't have the extra water from the frozen corn, I watched it to make sure it didn't dry. It did not- it turned out just fine. Next time, I may line the bottom of my soup bowls with the bacon bits, then pour the soup over so they soak into the soup. Will be making this again!!! **Update- FYI... since I was trying to see how economical I could be, I made this with CANNED chicken- and it worked out just fine! My family loved how it sort of fell apart in the soup and added all its flavor throughout. So if you have a can of chicken lingering in your pantry, here is a use for it. Yes, I did saute it just as the recipe calls for in bacon grease.

Tortellini Bacon Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: May 27, 2012
This was absolutely fantastic!!! The bacon did not get soggy and we even ate it the next day. I'm not a fan of people who review recipes they have altered or changed so please know that! I did not have tortellini on hand but I did have four cheese ravioli. I was too impatient to wait till the next day so I did use the ravioli. I cut each piece into fours so it would be smaller like the tortilin- just too darn impatient!! I used Marie Callendars coleslaw- the whole jar is just about 2 cups. OH man was this good!!! Keeping, keeping!! Thank you so much!!!

Grilled Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage with Tomato Cream Sauce Over Linguine

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
DISCLAIMER- this review is based on the end result from the changes I made based on what I had on hand. This is not a review of the recipe as printed. My family LOVED this- first of all, we used Al Fresco's chicken sausage with garlic/roasted peppers as it was what was available. Second, instead of making the sauce, I used a jar sauce with the same ingredients as it was convenient. I added the cream as the recipe dictated and it was wonderful. Third, I used penne instead of linguine. The sauce tasted so good I wanted a pasta that would suck up the sauce. Lastly, I did not add wine. I was concerned it would not burn off in time for my kiddos. I cannot say enough about the Al Fresco chicken sausage. It was so good and there was only one serving left for my husband. I used an entire jar of tomato, garlic and onion spaghetti sauce as the base and with the cream added- it gave off an incredible smell. My kids were licking their plates and looking for more. Please do try this recipe either as posted or with my alterations. Either way.. I don't think you will be disappointed. The parm and the oregano seasoning at the end is truly crucial. Enjoy!

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

This was absolutely fantastic. Like a couple others, I did not have preserves so I used juice from canned pineapple and I doubled the amount of sauce. It was SOOO good...just really, really good. Thanks so much, Stacy!

Spicy Refrigerator Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
These are AMAZING. I was eating them on day one.. my son and I have almost gone through an entire jar. I also increased the pickling juice just so I would have enough and since I had room in the bowl, I pickled onions and celery too. Soooo good!!

Bacon and Caramelized Onion Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
These were amazing! The dough was actually very easy to work with- I found I needed to add a few more pinches of flour to keep my hands from sticking so keep your flour stash nearby. At the recommendation of another cook, I did not have port wine so I substituted 1/4 cup red wine vinegar and a tablespoon of sugar to make mock wine. It turned out perfectly. If you have any leftover dough from the ends, shape it into tiny loaves and bake them along side the rolls. They turn into wonderful mini loaves of bread for sandwiches!

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
This was absolutely fantastic!! I couldn't believe it- I followed the recipe exactly (my stewed tomatoes were plain wrap brand Italian style) and blended it with a hand food processor to my liking. It was SOOOOO good. This is the real deal- you must try this and don't change anything!!!

Pepperoni Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
My husband could not stop talking about these! Raved and raved. I made it just as is- we use panko crumbs in our house instead of breadcrumbs. so I was worried it would taste weird since I didn't have the buttered round crackers. No worries- I added in some crushed french onions and it was fabulous!! Will definitely make these again Made these AGAIN... man, are these good. I upped the garlic to four cloves (and I think I only had 20 mushrooms) and they still disappeared- we have these for dinner. So Good!!

1-Dish Pepperoni Cheese Pizza Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
This was unbelievably good. I'm shaking my head at some of the negative reviews on this- by the very title, it is not going to be a traditional pizza. Its a bake and it turns out wonderful. The crust is so good its almost like a biscuit. Light, chewy and turns out so fluffy. If you are looking for a pizzaria pizza, this is not it. It is a pizza bake and as such, it lives up to its name. Really, really good. True keeper.
