About this Cook
I love to take simple recipes and give them an unexpected twist! I share my cooking experiments with my husband (and sometimes our two cats will sneak a bite)! We live in Dallas, TX and love to travel.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking, especially cupcakes. My current favorite things to make are punches, flavored popcorn and sheetcakes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's Thanksgiving stuffing. I enjoy making new traditions!
My cooking triumphs
Pool party food for 100 people!
My cooking tragedies
I baked a carrot cake for Easter 2010. The cream cheese frosting was too soft and the temperature outside was too warm, so the layers played slip and slide in my cake taker! It was edible, just not pretty!

Chef John's Fisherman's Pie
A friend recommended this recipe and I was very hesitant to try it as it's outside of my usual repertoire. I'm so glad I did. We really enjoyed it! I'm not a big spinach fan but it was good in this recipe. Will try other fish casseroles too since this one worked so well.

Hawaiian French Toast
We served this as breakfast for dinner for company we had over. Everyone loved it! I served the fruit on the side and it was a huge hit.
