I made Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies on a whim one day! Boy was that kismet! A guy friend of ours loved them so much that he asked for the recipe! Now, you know a recipe is good when a single guy that doesn't cook wants to make them. He even bought a stand mixer to make them with.… MORE

About this Cook
I love to take simple recipes and give them an unexpected twist! I share my cooking experiments with my husband (and sometimes our two cats will sneak a bite)! We live in Dallas, TX and love to travel.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking, especially cupcakes. My current favorite things to make are punches, flavored popcorn and sheetcakes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's Thanksgiving stuffing. I enjoy making new traditions!
My cooking triumphs
Pool party food for 100 people!
My cooking tragedies
I baked a carrot cake for Easter 2010. The cream cheese frosting was too soft and the temperature outside was too warm, so the layers played slip and slide in my cake taker! It was edible, just not pretty!

Wedding Cake Frosting
I've made several variations on this frosting over the years. In the summer I will use all shortening so it doesn't melt. I also like to double the vanilla extract (and add almond) to make it extra tasty!

White Russian
I made this for my husband tonight. Our version is a "Coked Out White Russian." We used cinnamon spice Kahlua and cola vodka (Three Olives). Yum!

Key Lime Pie VII
This pie is fantastic! I made it for a birthday dessert for a person at our leasing office. She was really excited to receive it.
